MR2 OTA Update (1.66.605.2) (Leak)

What apps are you no longer able to run? This is one of the things that is making me hesitate on this update...My Bolt is running well at this point and all my apps work.

For me, Discover Card, HBO Go, and Abduction World Attack are all not in my market. I'm not sure why, due to the variety of these apps. But hopefully they will be adjusted for when the OTA update rolls out.

No reboots yet!! That's what I am most excited about.

About 24 hours + in and so far so good. I am Stuck in a 3G area today and disabled the LTE. Still getting very solid and fast coverage and battery is much improved. I have 6:56 of up time with 2:00 hour of awake time and have about 70% battery left.

Over all things look very solid from my usage.

The battery life is encouraging to be sure!

Im not convinced that this will fix the issue with the phone. I have had a few HTC phone in the past to include Droid ERIS, T-Mobile Wing and the now the thunderbolt (Waiting to mail it back to verizon). The device to me have always seemed buggy despite the great feature they include. On the other hand i will have to say that my wife has a fascinate and even though it looks like a great phone the only issue it has is the lagginess sometimes. Either way, i'm sure after this update yet another big bugg will come about and haunt thunderbolt. it always seems to work this way with their devices for some reason. Samsung all be it slower on the software releases then most seem to to produce a more reliable product in the long run. Never the less though i am holding on to my thunderbolt for a few more days to see what happens with the update before i give it back to verizon.

They need to get gb and sense 3 on this badboy. Do that and then we talk about issues. Otherwise it Is like taking about problems with Windows Vista.

Sense 3 is not gonna happen. I would want more RAM on the phone before I would do that.

I think I will wait also for OTA 2.3 from Big red, hope it don't wipe all my stuff 2... Also what am I loosing in market ? not clear on def. of less...

No reboots on my 2 and a half hour drive either!! This update has definitely been great to me.

Battery life also seems similar if not improved based on today's performance. I have the extended battery and I have had it off the charger for 11 hours, using it consistently for gaming and texting and voice calls, and it is still at 40%. I should also mention that 4G was on all day, 80% brightness, and stuff syncing constantly. I am very happy with the Thunderbolt right now.

I mentioned somewhere else that I just want Gingerbread and an updated version of sense and I will be in heaven (although Netflix and Skype would be nice, too).

OTA's don't wipe your data. This is not an OTA update it is an RUU (Rom Update Utility) a file that is normally only used internally by software testers or to wipe a refurbished phone (it completely replaces the software on the phone). An OTA update is much smaller and only patches or replaces specific files that have been changed from the last released version.

Hi All,

I would like to know is this a leaked update? I have been out of town so have not been on the forum. Do I need to check for new updates via my phone? Thanks in advance.

My market still hasn't updated. Any suggestions?

Also my contacts are all messed up. I'm thinking about redoing the update.

Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk for your reading pleasure.

Took forever for me as well (over a day). Try turning the phone off and then back on again (not just rebooting).

This is the official MR2 release that should start going OTA on 6/15 [rumor]. if you don't want to wait until 6/15 and don't mind the factory reset, than go ahead and load this up.

The one app that wouldn't work I was able to go to the developers website and download. After logging into market on pc it told me that app wasn't "compatible" with my phone... but its working fine not that I manually downloaded it and installed it! simple note pad was the app, I'm in walmart alot can't resist taking pictures of some of the crazy outfits people will wear in public... and of course the leaked skype mobile app doesnt work but i didnt use it that much to start with. Over all extremely happy with the update. Almost 2 full days and no reboots, and i'm a wazer so my phone is on a lot oh and i drove some where around 550 miles yesterday and no reboots so much much better and definitely worth any frustration of having to reconfigure everything how i had it!

ps look for me on Waze wolfman99 central michigan!!

MR2 and Loving It!

I could care less about lost data. I updated immediately as I was getting 20+ reboots a day on my fourth replacement. Now my Thunder"Sweetness"Bolt is working as it should have. All of the fixes are in place. I haven't had a single reboot. Also, I like the new boot animation and 3G symbol. Although they should have re-sized all the icons. What I don't care for to much is the new (to small) hotspot icon (DINC2). That small change in the big scheme of things. I was literally losing it as I went through 3 T-Bolts,Droid Charge..Booo, and DX2 as replacements before this. Nothing in Big Red's line-up can even hold a candle to the Thunderbolt in my opinion. The D.Charge is a toy, laggy with checkerboard pinch to zoom ,DX2 was lousy icons to small and great screen but, Android on a whole needs to catch up in the High-res icon area and glitchy. These are just "My Own Opinions" so, to people that own these phones don't bite my head off. Anyways, I am just really glad to have to have a phone that works with a a gazillion reboots a day.

Now I will be thoroughly enjoying my T-Bolt waiting impatiently for the Function aka Galaxy 2. Just wanted to share my experience with this leak to any T-Bolt owner who is stock or rooted who hasn't taken the leap. I will leave you with the self-created mantra I live by..Live It, Love It, Droid_Life....Droooooiiiid!!!!!!:p

My browser after this OTA still has the same issue. Hangs for like 5 minutes before it loads up a page, if it loads it up at all. It happens even with Google.com, I mean hello, a white page with 6 letters, how data intensive can that be on a 4G network!

Have no such issue on my end. Something else may to blame for this issue for you.

I randomly have such issues, but its usually at home when I'm around mostly Sprint towers that Verizon must lease space on. When I'm in a solidly Verizon area I don't have as much issues as I do at home.
