New (Certified) Rezound..Already issues

Verizon sent me a certified phone to replace the Rezound I had (software issues that couldn't get resolved with a reset). HTC wanted me to send them the phone and wait 3 weeks for it to be returned.. Wasn't happening..

The new phone has issues already... When I have the phone by my ear on a call, the screen goes blank, locks as normal..Problem is... When i move the phone away from my ear it remains locked/screen off!!! I have to wait 30-60 seconds for it to reset itself.
Clicking the on/unlock buttons does nothing!

Is there a setting for this or is this phone being sent back to VZ and number three on the way?

huh. Maybe you got my old phone. Anyway, the light sensor is bad. Not much you can do.

Although I wouldn't expect this to happen on a new phone, this has happened to many Rezound users already: dust from carrying phone in pocket gets collected in the front speaker. Dust then makes it way down the speaker channel and lands on the front sensor. Phone "can't" tell that it is no longer pressed against your face.

Solution: pressurized air to blow out the speaker grill -- this also blows off your sensor.

Worked for me and many others... your mileage may vary.

I have been youtubing videos over and over about the HTC Hero... and it is just amazing how sexxi it is LOL. I really wonder when the release date is.
I will buy this fone in an instant. Price may be xpensive but who knows.
Going to be the best fone ever IMO!!!

That's sux man, I feel like sometimes people just have horrible run of luck w electronics sometimes, I remember no matter how hard I wanted to like hd DVD I cldnt bc I went thru like 3 bad hd DVD players in row and I finally got fed up and bought ps3, I'm suprised u didn't bail at least on phone if not android altogether.

Btw, my rezound has worked flawlessly since I bought it last November, but I've been there when the same piece of electronics just inexplicably keeps failing no matter how many replacements support sends u.

I went through 3 Rezounds myself. I'm a bit surprised that the quality of the Refurbished phones are so low. I left my Rezound and got a Razr Maxx instead. I had to argue a bit and talk with a Retention Specialist but they will get you sorted out. I agree with others though, if you are not satisfied, keep sending them back.
