New, unsolicited screensaver after software update in March 2017. Samsung S5, AT&T.

I actually liked the new "app" or Screen saver function. How do I reactivate it? I handed the phone down and in transferring data, the function seems to have been lost
anyone know how to find it?

Welcome to the forums. There might be a screensaver option in settings>Display. However, if this was an app you are thinking of you can look in your app download list in Play>My apps. In there, should be all your apps you loaded to your devices.
