Nexus 10 users, do you regret your purchase? The good and the bad.

Well I had the N10 for a while till I got my iPad so here it goes!

Pros-screen, this thing flied, very nice to hold, battery wasn't as bad as bad as i've heard people say

Cons- Lack of tablet optimised apps which was a deal breaker.

Thanks for your input! :)
Was that the only con that made you opt for an iPad instead?

Can you expand on this? Which Apps did you need to have optimized? Were some apps not upscaling correctly? if so which ones. Was it simply not an expidited way to search for Tablet apps in the Play store?

I don't mean this to come off as an attack on you in in any way, it is just that in this forum [and in reviews] we frequently see the "lack of tablet optimized apps" claim rear its head without enough supporting information to help those of us that have no problems with the apps on our N10s understand the perspective of those seeking somthing that we don't see as missing.

I've not regretted it once. If anything the only regret I might have had would be that I didn't use it enough to warrant the purchase, but its so good I've started using it more and more!

I know this isn't googles fault, but I use pages(Apples version of Word) and it syncs between my laptop and iPad which is incredibly useful, I have so many songs on my iTunes library and I would love to upload them to Play music but my country doesn't have Play Music, Asphalt 7 just did not work, also I just really, really love the multitasking gestures on the iPad(pinch with 4 fingers to close apps, swipe left or right with 4 fingers to switch apps, also I can't buy books or music here and I also can't buy apps with a gift card because we have none. The biggest problem is the fact that I can't get the google eco system as it is not possible.

Eco system as well(Not having play store gift cards, no access to books/music) Google needs to start offering this stuff to more countries

That being said I still have the N4 and it is awesome.

Another thing, god reader is the best thing for me and not having it was simply difficult.

Thank you.

I never really understand this one, especially not as a "deal-breaker". I have quite a few "tablet optimized" apps on my N10, and generally don't have problems finding them when I look. There are some apps that I could care less about, but stuff for I use everyday (twitter clients, tapatalk, feed readers, games, etc), I find there are a lot of tablet versions out there.

When I first got my old Galaxy tab, the whole "lock of tablet apps" complaint was legit, but now when I hear it, it just kind of annoys me -- just sounds like iPhan propaganda to me at this point. I mean, even those apps that don't have tablet versions still run quite well on my device and fill the screen.

Granted, everyone uses their device for different purposes, so maybe for some this is still a legit issue...I'm just curious as to who those people are (and anyone comparing tablets probably is too). I personally use my tablet mainly for web, as well as twitter, G+, Scope, forums on tapatalk HD, Bacon Reader, Pulse, and a few games -- no issues with apps here.

I second this, but at least someone finally did more than just throw the term out there and explained why they used it.

This is from me, on my EVO 3D.

Thank you.

You can see my answer above you, the problem also is not all google services a available to other countries.

you must have posted while I was writing!

That does make sense. I wasn't trying to attack, just to understand. I knew not all devices were available everywhere, but I honestly didn't realize that not all Google services were. To be fair though, your issue has more to do with availability of services than "tablet-optimized" apps.

Based on your situation, it sounds like iPad was the better choice.

Yeah Apple is far more international then Google and I wish my Nexus 4 could get play music and stuff but alas.
I just really want gift cards here

It's funny cause just now I read that now Canada can redeem Google Play Gift Cards. Which is awesome.

That's great and all, but they should expand now:P

No regrets EVER! I purchased mine on early December and loved with all of my heart! it was my first tablet and this tablet defiantly gave me a great impression of android tablets and Nexus devices... Fast and crisp display and affordable price! No SD card problem with me since I bought the OTG cable and I have my personal USB flash drive handy. :) no lag whatsoever! Very impressed with the gaming performance even when I play the high end game! I can also trust this device since its manufactured by Samsung. It's stunning when I watch a HD videos... Just incredible! I get the latest android update fast... Duh since it's a Nexus device... Very happy with mine... Love it! I would really recommend N10 to my friends and families! Cheers! :)

Additional notes: Some people have problems with the LED light but works great on my tablet. And before I purchased my N10, I was going to but Galaxy Note 10.1 but Nexus came into the picture and I ended up buying N10. I'm still kind of jealous of Note 10.1's S-Pen abilities...
