Nexus 6p battery

couple of things I've done to make sure the doze is working, 1. in setting->wifi->advanced, disable Keep wifi on during sleep and setwifi requency to2.4 GHZ. 2. Turn off automatic apps update 3 turn off locations

second day using the phone - almost comical how fast the battery drains with the screen on. with the screen off, it's a marvel how long it can go

definitely can say this is the worst phone i've had for on usage battery time - Screen set to middle with adaptive brightness, just awful. Used 145 mAh for 1hr 15m of on screen time now. Chrome has used more, 208mAh with 1hr of mobile radio active. The OnePlus One had much better battery life than this, maybe because it's not a "QHD" screen.

One strange thingI noticed(and pleasantly surprised), with an aftermarket cable, plugged into my macbook pro, it is charging rapidly.

Using this cable on Amazon

I can't be the only one experiencing this kind of batt life - anyone else?? best and worst battery life I've experienced.. best when not in use, worst when in use lol

I'm experiencing similar to this as well, quite frustrating when others are getting great battery life. The standby time has been great but at best I'm getting 2-2.5 hours of SOT. Using all the battery saving tricks that have been posted.

I have just over 2 hours of SoT so far, and I'm on par to get 60-72 hours of battery life (30% left and I haven't charged it in 48 hours). Zero complaints from me. The thing also charges so damn fast it almost doesn't matter. I'll probably end the cycle with around 3 hours of SoT, so maybe not as much as some power users, but approx. 3-day battery life is insane compared to most other phones I've had.

Re: nexus 6p battery

My discharge speed is 8 min 30 seconds per 1%. I had this same **** on my Moto X.. I don't know what the **** is eating up my battery. It sucks I'm hearing all these praises of awesome battery. Screenshot_20151112-085421.jpgScreenshot_20151112-085430.jpg

I just don't get it. I don't have that many apps installed either.

1hr/day screen on time?? I'd get 3 days batt life with that kind of usage too lol. I don't think anyone is complaining about the screen OFF time - just the screen on time..

im going to try turning adaptive brightness off, and adjusting the screen brightness as I go - starting around 30% brightness

Yeah like I said, I'm sure I'm not a power user like some other people, so it's been phenomenal for me. I've done a lot of screen casting (Netflix, hockey) but I don't think the phone does much after the initial cast. I don't notice the battery dropping fast when I'm using it though, even for 10-15 min or whatever. I don't use adaptive brightness - I find it super annoying and I keep reading that it worsens battery life on pretty much every phone. OLED's like a little more brightness though for good colors, around 50% or so is the lowest I'll use on the 6P (in comparison my Galaxy S6 needs at least 80% to keep the whites white).

Not sure if this is still true with state of the art phones, but I have read GPS uses a lot of battery compared to other functions, so if that is still true, maybe try battery saving location mode. Also get rid of Facebook Messenger haha.

I also started Force Stopping Chrome in Apps when it's not in use. Even swiping it out of recent apps doesn't seem to force close it. Seems to help a little.

That is similar to my experience.. this phone is awesome in every way except the battery life is just ok.

How do I check to see what is keeping the phone awake. I noticed people figured out it was Gas buddy. I'm wondering how I figure out what's doing it to my device.

I want all the great battery life everyone else is enjoying.

What I got today, moderate use.

Anyone getting a battery Stat that is only numbers? Blacked out android symbol. No information other than time cpu use

apparently I'm not the only one that's been having issues with the battery life. called google and they said more than a few have been calling with issues. not sure if these people are having issues due to apps not optimized, like the ones that have been brought up, but regardless there have been people noting a discrepancy in the screen on time.

Ditto here. I'm getting around 3 hours before my phone hits the dust.

Did they say anything else as to why there might be an inconsistency in battery life? Hopefully it can be fixed with an update

they did not. I can only suspect it is a variance in the hardware, not the software.
