Yeah, up here in NEPA pretty much anything goes. Usually get an old person cruising along in the wrong land or turning into exits, its awesome i love it. lol

After each ROM I apply, I do a *228 option 2. It seems to help but I'm not 100% sure it is needed.

The easy answer to say why you're not getting them is because you don't have on your Fascinate exactly what we do. There has to be something different, either from a previous load, a restored file one one and not another, etc. There are a lot of variables here.

The fact that it can be replicated by several people shows that there is an issue, whereas your phone is the odd duck out... and potentially a beacon of hope in finding a cure to the problem. You have something different on your phone than we have.

All of that said... /Shrug. I can't say why you seem to be inoculated against this bug. Either way, I'd be happy. For myself, I don't care, but for others, I'm game to help get to the root cause.

I tested this out just now and am getting what the majority are reporting. In contacts open group that was there but empty named family. Click to add my daughter to the group and get the FC error. It did add her to the group even though the error.

I don't use groups but will help troubleshoot where I can. I went from Stock EA28 to Superclean 2.4 then non-wipe upgrade to 2.6 and then also non-wipe upgrade to 2.8. I used Odin method for each upgrade and phone runs great (Thanks DXC and ADR by the way!) but am getting this group error. Let me know if I can test anything to help out.

Hey, sorry to be a pain. im getting an error when installing the samsung drivers. says Error 1316.A Network error occurred while attempting to read the file. Im not sure what to do from, again sorry for all the questions, but appreciate all the help

Are you installing from a network location? This almost sounds like you are running the install from an UNC path. Download driver to your C: drive or desktop and try the install again.

It has the same slow audio playback with Flash 10.1 on both 3g and Wifi. With both the stock android browser and dolphin HD.

Just leave it where it is. If you want to flash anything by itself such as a theme, different ROM, different kernel, or add-on you will do that through clockworkmod recovery, and update.zip is your key to get into clockworkmod recovery

I ended up going to the Full Stock Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01_DXC.tar rom. I'm getting FC's for Gmail. Any ideas on how to correct this problem for this rom? As a result, I can't open the market. Had to go to this rom because it is the only one other than the developers that VCast Video works on. My choices are kinda limited in that respect. Thanks Dave

hey i finally took the plunge and loaded EB16SC28_DXC.tar (from eclair)

Thanks for all the info the entire process was very simple and worked perfectly.

i did come across on interesting thing and i have not searched the 200+ pages of posts but my contacts will not close. the onyl way to exit i found is to use the home button. has anyone else seen this. if there is a fix previously discussed in this thread just let me know and i will search it out. otherwise just throwing it out there. (not really a big deal as i am way happier just thought it was strange)

Yes there is a fix for that. Long press on the contacts icon, choose change shortcut, choose phone. Long press on that phone icon, choose change shortcut, choose contacts. Now you should be able to get out of the contacts page by hitting the back soft key.

It's not ADW launcher it is an AOSP launcher and I can't remember what settings can be changed and how to change them. If you want a launcher you can customize you can try ADW or Launcher Pro. Both can be downloaded from the market.

it doesnt come with ADW launcher, it comes with AOSP (Android Open Source Project) launcher, ADW just looks like that and has the added features

thanks guys... i just saw the launcher app name in Titanium BackUp and that hinted to me that it was not ADW as well. Makes sense, LOL.
