[Odin] Froyo leaked packaged custom ROMs w/root and clockwork **UPDATED**3/25

Ah, okay. Sorry for all the nooby questions. I'm not afraid of doing this or anything, I've done stuff like this before, just that Android is different.

So essentially, if I want a really "stripped down" of my phone I should download a super clean version and follow the instructions in the first post?

dont get ahead of yourself there buddy lol

voodoo, is a kernel used for lagfix,,,,lagfix is a repartitioning of the internal memory to be utilized in a faster way.. it was not designed to be used in this way, so i dont offer it as it is possible to mess up the internal memory and i dont want to be apart of that happening...

if you want that you can head over to Adrynalynes or gunnermikes threads and they will be happy to assist you im sure

did you try flashing anything else besides that file, is this happening when you try to flash anything?

Sorry for the delay DroidXcon ... no, I can't flash anything at all through CWM. It's as if the copy_dir command in these scripts doesn't work. For example, I tried the simple sc_transitions patch which just updates one file ... the file is never updated. I also tried moving the .zip from a /rom folder on the sdcard to the root just in case - lol.

If copy_dir isn't working, that certainly explains the problem flashing full ROMs. SYSTEM gets wiped out and nothing gets put in it's place!

I verified and re-verified the update.zip on the sdcard as well. This all started happening back with DL30 and the various CWMs that were floating around at the time.

I'm very fortunate to have you out here hooking us up with ODIN packages

Two things:

1) I should start a different thread I think, this is pretty off topic if CWM just flat out doesn't work for me
2) I'll do some more research on this. Has to be some way to fix whatever I broke!

OK, NOOB needs help! Stuck on step # 2. (I know I'm an idiot, so bear with me!).

All the files in the first post, step number 2 are .tar files. But the 2.4 files spydermonkey posted in post 719 is a zip file.

So how do I load that using Odin when it comes time?

you dont use the link from post 719 use use the ones here ,,,ill have a .tar for 2.4 up in a little bit.... you will need winrar, download the file , right click and select extract here. then follow the directions in post #1,,,its pretty clear how to use them in odin

How are you making these tar files? I'd love to be able to take a 'snapshot' backup that I could restore from Odin if I screw something up...

OK, Now I've done it........ Someone give me the bad news......

I went back to 2.3, downloaded and unzipped. I tried the install via ODIN. ODIN wouldn't find my extracted file, so I looked in my explorer and it had a .rar on the end. Odin wouldn't find it with this on the end. I thought I did something wrong, so I shut ODIN, and unplugged my USB from the PC.

Now I have an icon on my phone with a cell phone on the left..a triangle with a ! in it, then .. and a picture of a pc.

HELP! Am I hosed?

then you will be able to see the downloaded file as EB01SC23_DXC.tar.rar then right click on it and select extract here

you are fine, just pull the battery , put it in download mode and start again
