On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

Dude, I'm a professional sysadmin, and my computer experience may just predate yours unless you managed to work on 8080 and Z80 based stuff. And you're the one that was talking about Samsung increasing the RAM memory to compensate for the lack of an SD slot.

I'm sure your experience may surpass mine.
If I worded it to sound as if they increased ram to replace the SD card I didn't mean to.
I was trying to say that the Samsung dude said they had gone from 2gb Ram to 3gb ram.
And the ram was suppose to be faster than the ram in the S5.
That led me to think about the Note 4 with more memory.
And they had a new and faster hard drive..

You got to understand I kept getting interrupted.
And he was tryin to tell me about the processor and how fast it was.
And the new battery they got should make it so you don't need to charge the battery as much.
Eliminating the need for a spare battery.
And that the the SD card drew voltage from the battery also.
But they had came out with a new style of SD card to work with the new S6.
But they hadn't found a way to put the new style SD card in the S6 and make it profitable.

And I do realize everything that is talked about before a phone comes out can change.

Was hoping the light the Samsung Rep gave me was correct and closer to the truth.
Guess I alone with everybody else will have to save their Money for the next 3 weeks to see what really is gonna go down.

We are all on the downhill slide and we'll know first hand how everything will work out.

No removable battery is the real breaker for me. because 128GB internal memory is enough for me, I didn't used much storage space on my phone.
However if the battery has a good quality so it's not deal breaker.

Battery, straight up. I BELIEVE in replaceable juice.

I often do activities that carry me away from a 120V outlet for a full day or more. Sure, I have any number of chargers that are portable, but, being relatively active, I find the need to carry TWO phone-sized devices (or one phone and one giant-lipstick-sized charger) and a cord FAR more frustrating than just slipping a thin little extra battery in my clothing (or two... one in each front pocket) that allows me to regain full charge in 30 seconds, and doesn't require me to hang a WIRE off of my WIRELESS device all the time.

And, in addition, I play Ingress, which means that, using GPS and on-screen play for hours at a time, I can burn through a standard battery in half of a day or less on my S5. And I'm not interested in hooking my phone up to some weak-*** pocket charger that can't charge faster than the phone burns (I assume the quick charge feature is going to require a 2.1A or greater power source, else, you are relegated to the same old trickle charge).

Finally, the S6 has a smaller charge capacity, bigger, brighter display, and a more powerful CPU than the S5 before it, which has mediocre performance, battery-wise, anyway. So, I think the hope that the internal battery will be "awesome" is a far-fetched one.

I suppose my only hope will be to attach some Mophie-type sleeve battery to the phone and be satisfied with phone that's the same size as my 2001 Kyocera 6035, with no hope of using wireless charging, NFC, or LoopPay through it.

And, FTR, I don't care about the battery being replaceable because of life issues... Only for usability every day. I'm using EDGE and will replace the phone at the earliest opportunity anyway, plus, I know I can have the battery replaced by a cellshop, disregarding the warranty, of course.

It's certainly not THE dealbreaker, but the memory thing is an issue for early adopters. Seems I remember it was almost a quarter year after release that Verizon stocked anything larger than the 16GB S5.

Any bets on whether the larger capacities in the S6 will be available at launch?

They will be available just not in every store in sufficient quantity or only in one of the gaudy colors Sammy picked.

Looks like you didn't look into spec and reports on S6 hardware very well. It's got the same size 5.1" screen as S5, but it's tested to be 20% more efficiency by displaymate. Exynos 7420 is 35% more efficiency than 20nm snapdragon according to samsung. Probably more gain from 28nm 801 in S5. Those two factors alone more than offsets 10% loss of battery size. Then there is more efficient memory, storage and WiFi/GPS chips. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

S5 in US never had more than 16Gb internal storage plus sd card slot.

I think 32 and 64Gb will be available at launch and 128Gb might come later depending on carrier.

We still haven't any real usage results.
One review said worse battery life than the S5.

That's good info to have. And you're right, I didn't look into that very well.

Thanks!

I appreciate that (I actually have a Brookstone one that is similar in design that I haven't used in almost a year and a half), but now you bump up against the other irritation. Now you're carrying two devices (one of which is pretty big @ almost a pound), and a cable, which sort of goes against the whole "wirelessness" of the device.

My impression, after owning four or five of these gizmos is that the smaller ones (say 2500 mAh) tend to not be able to push 2A current, no matter what their advertised current delivery is. My 18000 mAh one is the only one that can effectively deliver current at (what appears to be) 2A.

sure u can u just dont want to. there are a lot of online storage options .

Meh. There's the problem that about half of the consumers have a pay-for-data plan. So, pushing and retrieving movies and such from the cloud is not necessarily an economical thing to do.

Understandable but most people wouldn't need one of these unless traveling where power source isn't available. Just an option.

No removable battery....could be a problem as my S2, 3 and 4 required me removing it from time to time to get the phone working again after hanging problems. No issue with the S5 yet.
However, No SD card is an absolute DEAL BREAKER. I use that storeage, with a big card, all the time. So no S6 for me or others that I have spoken to that have all been using this line for years. Huge backward step after many years of continual improvement. So no more new Samsung phones in the future till this feature is restored.
Cannot tell you how many times IPhone uses have asked me to take a photo of them but been unable too because the units internal storage is full....dumb dumb move.

Others will tell you you don't need an SD card and be quite effusive about it. I'll be going for a Note4 in June.

Yeah, I've kinda settled on the Note4 to replace my Note2.
I wanted something a little between the size of the Note and the S4, but I just found out the S5 Screen is only 1/10" larger than the S4.
