OnePlus 8 Event enough to make you switch?

I never thought I would say this, the Ultra is more comfortable to use in hand compared to OnePlus 8 Pro. Curved screens please die soon.

Absolutely great phone in every aspect the 8 pro, but the curved screen is slowly getting to my nerve lol

Even though S20 series isn't completely flat, I think Samsung got that part great. I still prefer completely flat but the S20 curved screens don't bother me one bit mainly because that aren't that curved

That's good to know! Are the S20 screens more or less curved than the ones on the S10/S10+, if that makes sense?

I saw a couple people saying they had trouble with ATT on their Oneplus. I never had any issues with my OnePlus 5, Oneplus 7 Pro or OnePlus 7t Pro on ATT.

That being said, I am holding on to my 7t Pro Until I can get another top tier phone without a whole or notch in the screen

Someone here on another post turned me on to the Sony Xperia 1 II... that is a nice looking phone and hope it lives up to the glossy Samsung Ultra like advertising that they have on their website. Maybe they can come out with the best camera system (DXOMARK).

Besides that, I am curious to see if OnePlus will bring out a McLaren edition but the only other phones I am interested is the Note 20 and the iPhone 12 Pro.

Yep. Everything else is civilian. .

( Although a fold with the rumoured SPen - I'm in )

Damn, that Sony is a nice looking phone, it would be good if it specs out well.

I've had Samsung phones since the Fascinate and every one of the S line of phones. I now have the S20 plus and while it's a nice phone I'm over buying Samsung. Dealing with Sammy support on phone and tv products is an absolute nightmare and I'm done with it.

I've been feeling some buyer remorse over not returning this S20 plus but it's too late now. The OnePlus 8 pro looks good but if you read into their 5g implementation it has some real issues. I'm on T-Mobile and it does not support 5g mmwave, only low band 5g.

I will now be looking to see what Sony does with their new phone. I don't know where I will be moving to in the future but that is now an open question whereas it was certain to be Samsung in the past.

I too am interested to see what Sony does. I've always had a soft spot for their products.

And it's a freeing feeling to have everything wide open in terms of future purchasing choices. :)

Yeah used to buy Sony unlocked phones in the US as well until last couple of years back when I dropped then in my rotation cycle, just like I dropped crappy LG. I did always love Sony phones but to be frank they always felt something missing to make them my daily driver. Hopefully the new ones get my interest back, as of now no but if they get a hit I may be back in their camp and add them to my rotation.

Sony is pretty cool - hopefully their next line of products is a homerun!

Teehee That was me. I'm a bad boy! LOL

I seriously have no issue with the curved screen on the 10+ It seems less intrusive than the S8+
Yeah they are slowly reducing the curves from one iteration to another which is great for me. S20 series has lesser curves than Note 10 series.

Also Samsung has been doing curved screens for long and they have kind of mastered it. OnePlus on other hand lots of accidental touches and not a pleasant experience.

Interesting... I was checking reviews of the previous gen Xperia 1... $1000 and they had a promotion giving a pair of wh-1000xm3 BT headphones last year??!! Those were the best NC headphone last year at $350. I was gonna buy a set so getting them for free... it would be like the phone was only $650.

Some reviewers were liking the phone and wanted to like it more but it had quite a few quirks for an "expensive" $1000 phone.

But looking at the specs of the 1 II, they really looked like they listened to a lot of the criticisms so we'll see... like the sharper/squared sides over last years rounded aluminum look... front firing speakers on both ends... adding wireless charging... 3300 to 4000 mah battery. Really hope they sorted out the bugs on the camera though.

Man if they sort out all the bugs in this next gen and it's much improved at the $1000 price again, if they do the promotion again and offer the upcoming next gen BT headsets, I could jump on a deal like that just for the headsets and get a worst case "midrange" phone for $650 lol.
