OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5-3.26.651.6 [official update]

I think you might have a totally different issue. Have you tried doing a hard reset and not install anything on it. Let is sit for atleast an hour and see if its still draining too fast. If its fine then reinstall app 1 at a time and not do a restore with data.

I have not done a hard reset. I am at work and will check the phone out late tonight when I get home. I may try and do that. Such a pita to do that though. lol But some one else made a post already about the bad battery life after the update. I literally went from 2.5 hours per 10% battery life with moderate use to a half hour per 10% not being used and just sitting on my desk.

I just unplugged the phone from re charging the battery. I will see what the phone does from now till I get home tonight. Hopefully I can figure out what the problem is. If it comes down to be doing a hard reset I will. Just sucks because I do not have any of the other issues people are having after the update. If it wasn't for the battery I would have no issues. Oh well. Just my luck. haha

Anybody seeing an weird widget interactions? None of mine outside of stock HTC widgets update. They appear to work, like dazzle does what it is supposed to do, but the graphics don't update. Some of my other widgets have a ghosting appearance between updates.

I've booted, pulled the battery, switched scenes, switched back....nothing fixing it.

Same issue here. I can see ghosts of my mixzing widget on my home clock.

Just got an OTA notification to download now in Texas. Just an FYI if ya dont wanna mess with zip files. :)

Just un-rooted and did the OTA I need to return my EVO dew to dust under the screen so I needed to un-root any ways. Booting up now

Later,
Dave

Same issue here. I can see ghosts of my mixzing widget on my home clock.

I flashed a rooted version of this OTA, and I saw something similar. All of the transparent black parts of icons/widgets seemed blacker, and I was getting some ghosting.

It turned out that it had just duplicated all of my icons and over-layered them, with one layer not updating (hence the ghosting in my case). Maybe you have a similar problem. (Note that a restart did not fix this, nor did loading my previous "scene".)

Anyways, I just dragged/deleted the top layer and no problems since.

I followed the guide and after I did the part:

Choose applysdcard:update.zip. Let it do its thing.

It proceeded to turn off and now it won't turn back on. I removed the battery, tried all the button, tried plugging it in. Any advice please??

Hmm I have a stock update and i'm not seeing the flash problems people are mentioning and using the stock browser. Just watched the Epic VS Evo prizefight. Wanting Evo to win...win...and yess Winner :D. Either way , both great phones, just mostly ask if you need keyboard or not :)

Yes!!

I ran update last night...my score is 1257 in Quadrant ran three times on average. One time I hit 1391 even with the nexus1!!

All vid games run so smooth now its not funny. I wouldnt even play any games on phone before but now...bring on hungry shark...

lmao

PS-So glad I left ATT for this phone.

I just flashed it over baked snack. I was able to keep my settings but one fc with gmail..weird. But yea, pretty good if I do say so.
A few hours later i was back to my old rom..oh well lol

This is how I got the update and kept root...

If you have Unrevoked 3 installed:

  1. Download stock Evo Recovery image (Can't find it anywhere... EVO Stock Recovery? - xda-developers)
  2. Place the file in root of SD card and reboot into HBOOT (volume down/power button)
  3. Do the update that HBOOT asks (vol. up for YES)
  4. Reboot
  5. Once rebooted, download OTA and install (should work now)
  6. Once install finishes successfully you can reinstall a custom recovery using the same method (a list of them are here: public:forever [RootWiki])
  7. Once you have a custom recovery back, you will need to reinstall Superuser as an update.zip through recovery ([APP] Superuser 2.3.6.1 - Now on the Market [2010-09-05] - xda-developers)
  8. Reboot and enjoy!

Thank you so much this worked perfectly!

On one phone flawless , and the other one home screen missing widgets and the other screens were blank ? humm ???

To anyone who has experience with the Epic/Galaxy S series as well, do you think that this brings the Evo's graphics performance to comparable levels with what the Galaxy does? Or is there still an advantage to the Galaxy? I'm trying to make a decision between the two, and I'm curious whether the FPS cap removal equals the score (or at least closes the gap) on graphics.

Whoever posted about the widgets on top of each other was exactly right in my case. Problem solved. Thanks.

Okay...EVERY icon is duplicated....kind of annoying....Anybody else seeing this?

Did anyone else's second gmail account break? Mine was one of the few to sync just fine before the update. Now my secondary account doesn't seem to sync.
