Im not to sure i just wiped and flashed both on mine to see if i had the same problem. It went smooth for me.Did you have any problems booting just iced without oc?

no problems with iced and it is running great but oc is still an issue. i must have tried like 6 different flashes. i wiped installed iced and rebooted and then shut down flashed oc and espresso to see if maybe i flashed 2 that might help but nothing. its weird.

That is wieird have you tried re downloading the oc zip maybe it was a bad download.

i have now re downloaded the oc file to no avail. :-( i don't know what else to do. guess overclocking not meant for my phone

Just a quick update. I downloaded every rom that oc should work on and not a 1 would boot after flashing oc.

How is this effecting battery life? Does the ability to underclock while the screen is off increase battery life, or does it just offset the times when you're overclocked?

Im going to say wait til rufflez or flipfone chime in here cause i know one of them two could tell you more about how battery has been. For me it hasn't been a big difference but,i flash and test a lot so i haven't ran it steady enough to tell the truth. For the little boost in performance id give up battery.:)

i havent really noticed much difference in battery life, but then again my phone is on the charger at least twice a day. Working 10+ hours in a computer room with poor service kills it. When im home it seems to last about normal. So i guess your mileage may vary. :)

Yea my battery life is about the same. I also work and have class in a room which gets pretty much no reception so my phone keeps switching between roaming and not which eats the battery either way. Luckily there is a charger in the room so i have no issues :)

It has been a bit hard for me to tell if this overclocking has made my phone faster or not. When ever i text msg, the keyboard would lag a bit whenever i would be receiving a txt msg at the same time. This happened before and it still happens now, but maybe not as much. THat is pretty much the only difference i have noticed.

trying it out, when i first installed it, it was really sluggish, but when i applied the new settings it is way faster. i have option 4 rom. If it has probs i will bet it is the rom/mod config and then i'll have to upgrade to honeybun

It will be slow till you apply setting with the oc widget. It should run fine on option 4,i ran it that way for a few days.

You are not alone with this, I am in the same boat. I have tried every rom I could for over clocking. Not a single one will run on my hero either :(. Plain roms work just fine, but when I try to add the over clocking all I get is a boot loop. If it is a rom with overclocking ability from the start, it will just boot loop. It seems that I ran an overclocking rom in 1.5 and it worked, but nothing in 2.1 has went past the boot screen. I am still looking for an answer, and if I find one I'll be sure to post it.

[ROM] PureHero rom overclocked

i found a rom on xda that is overclocked and runs on my phone. it is purehero. i have the live wall papers working and everything. and i really like the rom but it might not be for some. no sense ui. i dont happen to mind. check it out at the xda forums

thank you. i tried the non overclocked version of purehero. runs well, and is nice but i cant live without Sense. other than that its one of the nicest roms i played with, i loved the colors. :)

i didnt think i could live without sense but i have grown to not care. anyways just letting you know whats out there.

Does this OC kernal cause issues with wifi tether? I've been using a different kernal that does. Basically the whole phone hangs anytime you stop wifi tether (the normal way, you can use a task killer to get around it but that's messy)

It shouldn't I have no problems and I use wireless tether atleast once a day.

Am a much bigger fan of koolaidsugarfree now. Am running it with OC and Wirelesstether and its great. Wireless tether freezes upon disconnect but thats ok with me (Probably the app). The fact that I can turn my Hero into a WIFI hotspot makes me giddy. Now i REALLY don't have to get the EVO.

Same issue as some of the above, Iced Honeybun + OC Koolaid = endless boot. Flashed it a bunch of times, the very first time i did it the phone restarted and it would just freeze when trying to open the Overclocking widget. So after that i erased it all, reflashed and stuck in an endless boot.
