Rather odd flash ad for Verizon's 'holiday deals'

Re: What the?

That price point is lovely. That's a lot of storage for only $199.

Still thinking its a December launch date, though.

Re: What the?

My guess is that the store you called, Mac, was an indirect store. AWireless has been doing pre-orders for over a week with no guaranteed release date. I highly doubt a corporate store is going to confirm a launch date when Verizon themselves haven't said anything. Just wait until Decembe 8th.

I thought this initially as well but they said they were a corporate store :/

Anyways I called another store and got a different answer so I guess one of them didnt know what they were talking about. :(

Re: What the?

Well don't get too discouraged. They told you 14 days which is about right. And if it really is going to be $199, I'm cool with waiting another 2 weeks for it.

Re: What the?

I think the title of this thread is perfect. It really sums up what we are all feeling.

On Android Police, they mentioned the ad had a date in the URL of 11/29. Maybe that's when this deal with the Charge and Nexus will go live?

Ugh...I hate Verizon. But then I also don't if the Nexus really is buggy or something. So I hate Google. Ugh...I hate everyone.

Re: What the?

This just makes me angry that we could have had the phone in our hands by now. Thanks alot Verizon.

Re: What the?

If the price is really $199 for this phone, that makes me think that Verizon didn't want to delay this for today. If they really pushed this phone and pointed out that it's not only better, but $100 cheaper than it's competitors, it would sell like crazy on a day like today. I'm starting to believe there's a few things they weren''t happy with after testing and decided to delay it until it met their standards. I'm cool with that.

Re: What the?

guys, just a thought but.... If these are truly Verizon ads for the GN don't they HAVE to honor what is written ..$199.

Re: What the?

So clearly P3's December prediction was a load of crap considering Verizon planned on selling the device today.

No idea why people follow the guy.

Good grief. He's mentioned nowhere in this thread, yet people still feel the need to drag him into things. Some of you really have problems.

Re: What the?

I wouldn't read too much into that file name. And, regardless, it really doesn't matter. Don't think it'll be out Nov. 29, either. Also, was just sent an e-mail that's going around indirect retailers confirming Dec. 8.

Well that's good news. Perhaps an actual announcement next week? It would be nice.

Re: What the?

The only problem I see here is the word "new". Does this mean only new customer with a new contract or just extending our existing unlimited contract.

Why would that mean he's full of crap? He said it was delayed. It was delayed. I don't get it.

Re: What the?

This is the worst phone launch ever, of all time. (Agent Washington - Red Vs. Blue)

My guess would be that "new" would simply mean a new contract or extending your current service for another 2-years. Verizon has used the same language forever AFAIK.

Re: What the?

I'm pretty settled and accepting the Dec 8 date. Every which way I've looked at getting this phone, staying with VZW has turned out to be the best solution for me. It's going to be a fun & interesting time on here, when it's finally released.

Re: What the?

People who waited on the Thunderbolt say other wise.

Actually, I was part of that crowd who waited on the Thunderbolt. I only owned it for a month before I couldn't take it any longer. I was just trying to bring a little humor into it is all. That is, if anyone here knows what Red Vs. Blue is.
