Regarding Dec. 9 no longer being the unofficial date

Sarcasm is the body's natural defense to stupidity

Or a way to make fun of people without them noticing.. hence all these people that have boiling blood over a phone that hasn't even had a date officially released for it yet. ;)

Whoa whoa whoa, Tebow? Oh no no no no. Touchdown Jesus is a reference to Notre Dame. Grew up a fan. As for Duke, I went there for grad school, so yes I'm a fan. But TD Jesus is not Tebow.

I just ordered a case today from Amazon for Friday delivery, have my full retail funds ready and sold my iP4S based on this date. Now I have to figure out plan B, refund, take another Android phone for a test drirve (not really wanting to) but will likely have to.

Anyone thinking/believing that Verizon would compromise the integrity of a multi-billion dollar LTE network that is the center of their universe is nuts.

They would never "sabotage" it to delay a freaking phone.

Collateral damage, nuff said.

Verizon releases to many phones for an outage to not look like it follows a launch. Seriously the argument is there is an outage AFTER releases? Did I miss something and you guys have your GN living in a post release time?

Just heard from a engineer friend at VZW that they were ordered to kill 4G and blame it on an unknown problem so they could delay the nexus for another week.

:'(

I'm not sure which is funnier. The post itself as a piece of humor....or the number of responses to it that took it seriously. Either way, I am LMAO as I follow the replies. :D

The way I'm approaching this whole fiasco is that:

1) I know that the Nexus is in some stores and that they were unofficially planning to sell the phone on Friday.
2) Verizon has delayed the release for some reason (most likely a legitimate reason).
3) I am fine waiting an extra week at maximum. It's very realistic that Verizon will want to honor their unofficial release as soon as possible.

Just a few more days, friends! It won't kill us. On the other hand, I do think it would be appropriate for the customers, Samsung, and Google to know why it took so long for Verizon to release this phone.

I'm sure Google is aware of what is going on, or at least what Verizon wants them to know.
I'm also sure Samsung doesn't care too much, as Verizon has bought the stock from Samsung. Future orders will matter, but product has been made, sold, and shipped to Verizon at this point.
Finally, I'm fairly confident that Verizon is not too concerned about the consumer/customer. They never "officially" announced a release date, so they don't technically owe us anything. They also know that people will buy this phone whenever it is released.

I just need this phone to be released before the double data promotion ends...I'm gonna be pissed if I miss it.

I can say that my store has indeed received the phone today, but has not been given a for sure date as of yet since the 9th was now scratched. I'll try to give an update when we are for sure launching it tho.

Will this be one of the most sloppiest of releases?

I only ask because given that product has arrived to stores...including accessories, training is finished, and that it seems like a lot of the stores (based off of posts I've seen today) still have no idea that Friday has been canceled. I know this is still a rumor since there still is no official release date. With stores still saying "we are selling it on Friday" and product actually being in stores, people are sure to actually purchase this unannounced device come Friday.

How will this work? I mean...Verizon has yet to say anything and surely they can't stop all the stores in the whole US from selling this device. I'm sure there have been breaks in the communication.

After all is said and done, you'll have people buying an unannounced phone on a day which it shouldn't have been sold.

Could this be one of the more sloppy releases by Verizon? I can't believe that they would want to delay a launch after having sent everything to stores.

Mind blowing.

Honestly guys and gals, I am the manager of a verizon premium retailer and with the ongoing 4g LTE outage nationwide I think the delay has something to do with that, because it is having an effect on activating new 4g devices... If they have everything back up and running I have a pretty clear indication that the 9th might be back on the table.. They just want the release to go as close to flawless as possible... and something like a 4g outage will not make that easy, is that understandable?
