Regarding Dec. 9 no longer being the unofficial date

Too late. I closed it. Let's get back on track here.

Thanks for at least thinking about reopening it. I know it might seem minor but it's the principal.
I also know it takes one whole click to unlock a thread. That click takes a whole second. I won't be rude as I am an admin at an android forum and the same rules apply throughout. But moves like these make people view you in a different way. Just saying.

They may be anticipating, though, that the Galaxy Nexus is going to move a significantly larger number of devices than all the other 4G phones they currently have combined considering that they are likely aware that many people are waiting specifically for the Galaxy Nexus.

they plan on dropping the droid 4 tomorrow... which you would assume would sell a large number of devices.

any word on a delay on the droid 4? didn't think so...

This is probably his whole life. Let him have it.

It isn't going to move as many as you think. most have no idea the nexus is even around.

All guesswork, at this point. Hell, it could even be something innocuous, like a bad batch of SIMs (identified by those stuck into RAZR's, that may also have been stuck into GN's).

If it were some kind of software bug, the phones would still be released (and OTA update applied).

I'd love for AT&T to be better in my area - I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. Then I could watch U-Verse on my phone. :D

More on topic, if people are tying this delay into the RAZR sim card/LTE problem, why does this seem to be exclusive to Motorola devices on LTE (or am I missing something). Is the Rezound, or T-Bolt, etc. experiencing the same outage?

I didn't have the issue on my Thunderbolt... but not every Razr was impacted. I think they probably did it out of an abundace of caution. They're probably trying to minimize the amount of change in their environment while they evaluate/fix whatever is happening.

Think about how much worse it'd be if they launched the Nexus and it had the SAME problem as the Razr? Or worse?

No they don't. Keep doing what you're doing Phil.

I just want Verizon to release this freaking phone already so that all the other Android devices that are scheduled to get ICS get them. If the GN is delayed so will the release for ICS fro other devices.

I think Verizon is just screwing with us at this point. Maybe if we stop caring they will just release it!

Is there word in the general press about the Droid 4...at all? Most people outside of Android communities don't even know it exists, and many of those who do are waiting for the Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus does at least have that going for it, and it's been covered in the press quite a bit by now.

Just playing Devil's advocate.

I am a tester for a major Satellite TV provider and I can assure you that last minute bugs pop up all the time. Products releases and software updates get delayed literally hours before being shipped, pushed or sold. This is all part of the reason that VZW did not set a release date. People like to freak out in a fit of entitlement around here but there are people at VZW much smarter than anyone who posts here.

If that is the case, them most of Motorola phones will be delayed, but they get pushed through, even with bugs present.

So ...

If this is delayed, again, off of 12/9 - and the reason this time is supposedly the recent LTE issues - this would certainly mean that the Droid 4 and new Xyboard tablets would be delayed too (they are LTE as well), right?

If they don't get delayed, then we can write off LTE as the reason I suppose ...

It is the POS locked encrypted bootloader that is killing the sim cards. Just one more reason moto should unlock their bootloaders:p
