Regarding Dec. 9 no longer being the unofficial date

Could be worse though. Could be a Bionic owner and the RAZR comes out 2-months later.

The way this is going, it's going to be the same thing. GN finally releases, so late that the next Nexus (most definitely NOT released on Verizon I'd bet) get released 2 or 3 months later.

Since it was never announced it can't be delayed. Nothing to see here, moving right along.

I am a tester for a major Satellite TV provide

Do you drive a Dodge Stratus?

The fact that bugs exist and products are delayed doesn't mean that this case in this situation.

Verizon lost what little credibility they had left with that Google Wallet press release yesterday. They tried to blame hardware and security? They're dishonest.

Whether this has anything to do with the RAZR/LTE outage problem, or whether it has anything to do with the Droid 4 launch, one thing is certain: the serious, serious dislike I've held for such a long time toward Motorola has officially turned into hatred.

Motorola has some kind of grip on Verizon's nuts and I'm sick of it. Verizon pushes everyone around, yet they let Moto dictate what they do (it seems). It's like Moto is the devil and Verizon made a back room deal with them a long time ago and are still paying the price for it.

Ever notice how all Motorola-produced Droids get so much commercial airtime etc.? That's Verizon marketing for them, not Motorola. I've seen more commercials for the RAZR than the Thunderbolt, Charge, and all other non-Moto phones this year COMBINED.

I think Verizon got into bed for the long-term with Moto way back when they launched the original Droid and are still paying a price for it today. Had Motorola's products been better, it would've worked out great for Verizon, but I think everyone knows Motorola phones are pretty much crap. I know crap seems subjective, but we all know what it smells like, and Motorola sure smells bad.

I'd have to check the details to refresh my memory, but I'm pretty sure Verizon has a deal with Moto that they get a chunk of the profits on all Droid phones. That's a big reason why they're pushed so hard.

Also, Droid is a Verizon term, no Moto. Hence, Droid Incredible, etc.

I wouldn't necessarily call them "crap". Maybe, "plain" or "uninspiring", perhaps.

But, I think you're somewhat correct. I'm sure there's some kind of agreement or contractual thing between Verizon and Motorola, that has definitely been long-term (I've always seen Motos on Verizon more than any other carrier, it seems).

Products releases and software updates get delayed literally hours before being shipped, pushed or sold. This is all part of the reason that VZW did not set a release date. People like to freak out in a fit of entitlement around here but there are people at VZW much smarter than anyone who posts here.

Haven't you learned yet? People around here can't handle common sense or the truth.

i have to imagine that this is either

a) bull ... some guy saw the date changed to comming soon, freaked, started spreading rumors that aren't true... verizon just changed the date because they wanted this to be a quiet release and did it in response to the obvious news that friday was happening...

b) the LTE issues that popped up yesterday with the RAZR are bigger than we though

c) verizon hates us all.

I hate speculating on rumors but.....

Verizon looks like they're just going to Spring an announcement on us the day it is released so perhaps Friday is still on? If it is indeed network issues, i would imagine they would be addressed relatively quickly.

Someone is not taking the news very well. I've sent a few angry tweets so I think it's out of my system. Hell, I've been waiting since July. What's a few more days at this point?

We all know Verizon sucks. Hopefully, in two years time there will be a suitable alternative to their company.

Sprint is quietly building up their backend network. Hopefully, by the end of next year we will see some progress and Verizon can stop being dicks with their devices (or I am gone).

Can we try to stay on topic at least a little bit here?

I have been with Verizon since my first cell phone in 2000, but I'd love for Sprint and AT&T to really challenge Verizon on network coverage. Once that playing field is leveled, then you're left to compete on pricing and devices - that's when we, the consumer, win.

Given the sudden change, this is my guess as well. Something with the RAZR's getting toasted made them do a double take to get that ironed out before a slew of 4G devices hit their network.

The quick, accurate answer to that article is "Verizon does not care." They know they have the best network, they know they have great phones, and they know people are willing to "bend over" and deal with the games they want to play with the consumer.

As much as I hate to bring it up, Verizon has not broken any promise on this phone to the consumers until it launches after December 31. Those leaked dates were not meant for our eyes, and are therefore "unofficial." We all know it is a delay, but Verizon will hide behind the "we never announced anything" banner, knowing all the while that we will still buy this phone (or another phone) on their network. I don't think they honestly believe they will lose enough customers for this launch to concern them, therefore "they do not care."

I agree. They don't care. They are just bullying upon the fact that they are still the only one who has everything tech savvy people likes.

HOWEVER, all these incidents made them very vulnerable to competition. "IF" something like AT&T and T-Mobile merge occurs, and they start getting comparable coverages / next Nexus phones, VZW is gonna have people dumping them without any hesitation, simply because VZW has been putting people on edge.

Brand loyalty is very important when it is more competitive.
