Regarding Dec. 9 no longer being the unofficial date

If its any consolation. The radio shack leak from yesterday mentioned something about the 14th.

Bottom right corner. Demo units arrive 12/14.

Just saying, the guys on the Charge forums are posting similar problems with LTE and mine went out this morning too. 3G is good, but 4G in NY seems to be out on more than Motorola phones.

Maybe it's New York then? I've never had a stronger signal and my wife hasn't mentioned any issues and she always lets me know if there are issues because I was the one that told her to get the Revolution.

How many razr Sims got burned last night? Alot This made vzw stop and say wtf just happend.

Maybe its an issue with the "LTE Micro sim card" doesn't the Razr have one aswell?

some with stratosphere which uses micro sim are having no issues. It is the locked bootloader that did it, they dont work well with those sim cards /s

For those that are getting this call, I'd ask the rep if they know anything about the delay that was reported this morning. Sales reps seem to be a bit behind on information for this phone.

That and I wouldn't want to waste a trip to the store for something that isn't available.

I might give them a follow-up call later though he told me he'd let me know if there were any updates (mainly because I wanted to know if I could pick it up end of day tomorrow...).

I'll probably stop by Friday morning unless there is a true VZW announcement regarding the delay as it's on the way to my office anyhow.

The problem with your logic is it isnt the verizon way.... buggy not completely working on it's network phones, and filled with problems is the teh Verizon way (IE, Bionic, Thunderbolt, Revolution, Facinate)

this is what i think every time i hear that argument. verizon constantly releases half-baked phones.

Oddly I'm not even that upset.

I think I half expected this to happen.

This is why several Android people I know switched to iPhone.

Dude... who trusts a cat? Now if it was a dog, or maybe a chicken I would buy it. But a cat? Come on....

Agreed. Cats CANNOT be trusted. <--- Yes I used caps.

My cat is very trustworthy

He also told me he heard the iPhone 5 rumor was false after he was pooping in the Apple store.

yeah, i think it must be a NY isolated situation. because ever since my droid charge got the latest GB update, the 4G LTE connection has never been better. I get 4G LTE connection in areas where, previously, it'd always only be 3G at best. now, i'm pretty much getting 4G almost everywhere. and it doesn't drop to 3G or switch back and forth, as crazy as it did before. it's much more stable.

Once Iphone gets lte and a larger screen I may switch. At least they do not keep everyone in the dark after announcing a product and make people wait nearly 2 months+

The testers probably found another software bug and decided that it would be smarter to fix it rather than knowingly release a phone (with no official release date) with issues. Very wise move IMO. Obviously the nerds will freak out but there is a reason Verizon is number one across the board,

I have to disagree with you here. The "unofficial hacker" community produces much higher quality code in a much more timely fashion than anyone that Verizon employees. For the "unlocked" phone of the year, why not just let them fix it? We'd have the fix in our hands by the end of the weekend.

Next person who quotes an AC story from another site will get beat over the head with my Galaxy Nexus. :p

Ha! I love how you add 'with my Galaxy Nexus'. How about a little salt to go with the open wound for my fellow forum members without a GN? Stay classy! :p

It's almost like VZW is doing this to keep the phone out of people hands. LIke they are trying to get people to say "Screw it, I am not waiting any longer. I am getting a Droid!"

i would fully believe that... except that they are still selling other 4G devices, and as of now still plan on selling the DROID 4, a 4G device, starting tomorrow.

if they really had major concerns over 4G, they'd at least put a stop to the DROID 4 as well... and probably every 4G phone.

which says to me that they're probably still releasing it on the 9th... they haven't said anything, after all... and that the equipment site just jumped the gun putting the release date online, and corrected their error.

Couldn't agree with you more. it can't be a 4G issue otherwise the droid 4 also should have been delayed

As I stated, things can change. The hardware may be fine (which is why the devices have been shipped) but last minute software issues popping up is not at all uncommon occurrence. There have been several instances where DVR software and features has been held up for weeks even a few hours before planned release because of glitches. The complexity of fixing these things can be more complicated than any of us can imagine.

So basically your hypothesis and subsequent conclusion is wrong.

And how can a device that was never given an official release date be delayed? The fact that VZW is being careful with this phone is a GOOD thing. Just because it's not what some people want to hear doesn't make it wrong. Just be patient and you'll be rewarded and all of this freaking out while waiting for this phone will be completely forgotten when you have this device in your possession.

Ok, this argument drives me nuts. In a dream reality your argument may hold value. In the real world, what you said means nothing.

Let's look at the facts, there are test phones circling around the country that all have no major hardware complaints, and there is an entire continent selling them (yes in a slightly different version) but overall the same phone and they are just fine over there.

The biggest reason you are wrong though is because you praise Verizon for being careful with this release. There were MANY MANY people over in the Thunderbolt forums doing the very same thing when the Thunderbolt started getting delayed. After a very long delay and missed released dates, Verizon finally released the "approved" version. Remember how great that phone is? For months, users suffered from TERRIBLE battery life, and constant reboots. Our wonderful dev community solved the problems fairly quickly, but the average user was forced waiting and waiting and waiting for Verizon to address it.

The same thing will happen here. Any "problem" with the phone that they fix, will be replaced by a new one that is undiscovered until the release. And then Google will fix it, or the dev community will fix it and all will be well.

Verizon has not, and WILL NEVER release a flawless phone, and defending them for claiming that is the reason for the delays is just stupid.
