Rezound OTA Update Incoming!

The OTA downloaded automatically but it has not installed. I have done a restart and a shutdown / battery pull. Anyone know how to force it?

Haha glad I'm on ICS already :D

Sorry to those of you that are having issues with this. There'll be another patch soon...

Damn red triangle with an exclamation point keeps showing when the phone reboots after downloading the firmware. Here goes try #2. I suspect this has to do with me obliterating all bloatware. Will update later.

Update: Green recycle arrows appeared. A third into the installing process, another red triangle. Hmm.

Update 2: Apparently, this OTA seems to break root. So beware to those that install the update.

Update 3: Son. Of. A. B*tch. I'm only getting 3G after just attempting to install the update. After browsing XDA, it seems I'm not the only one.

Update 4: Two reboots, and I have 4G again. Lesson Learned. No more OTA's for me.

You should've known a headache would ensue for your troubles. Beware of the dark side, Jedi.

My update didn't install due to a lack of battery power. After, I had enough battery, Software Update -> Status, I got the prompt to install the update.

I installed the update. Haven't rooted or anything.

Haven't had time to see if I noticed anything different either.

I wanted the 5 bar signal icon. Those look pretty bad ass.
Also, I've had a few random reboots, and this OTA supposedly fixes that issue, according to Verizon.
Oh well.

Definitely not worth losing root over. I don't recall an OTA breaking root on the OG Droid, but then again I only had 2 of those.

I'm waiting as long as I can for this update. If it's not broke, don't fix it attitude. I love my extended battery and how much use I get from it. I don't want to ruin that. I'm not rooted just temp rooted for clean bloat. I've been reading reviews from those who have cleaned bloat, and they are having issues with new OTA update. I'm waiting on this...

Well my update was automatic and painless. Wasn't using phone for a couple of hours and when I used it to make a call saw that the update had been installed. No issues whatsoever and the the 5 bar RSS does look better.

Got my update today and all is well. Diggin the 5 Bars. Never had the music noise issue so can't say if that was fixed. i also thought the voice quality was good before, so what do i know?!

no issues with the update. 4G issue might be specific to some areas.

Got the update, but it didn't fix any issue that I have. Still won't read the SD card without third party app, still won't list me in the correct time zone ( Arizona). Far as I can tell it was a nothing fixed fix.

Temp rooted. All bloat is gone. OTA came downloaded it 3 restarts and no change. Do I have to factory reset to get the update?

You'd have to re-lock and restore bloat. Possibly use RUU.
Would it be worth it? Depends on how you feel about factory resets.

I'm a noob at this. Just temp rooted last week. What do you mean re-lock? Hitting the factory reset in the settings doesn't do the trick?

I'd attribute that to the fact the OGD was pretty much stock android. Way I look at it, if your rooted and the device ain't vanilla, proceed w/ caution under the guise it will eff up yer evening.

I just got it foisted on me. Took it, and then stopped the new VZ location app. If this thing keeps coming back to life I guess Ill unlock and root.

you could use titanium backup to backup user apps and data, at least that way you don't lose app data, and it does save some time.
