[ROM] [04.19.11] BAMF Remix 1.5 - New base RUU plus more! *UPDATE*

thnx for the quick response altho dl **** here at work blows..... slowest connection in the world but least im making progress. should be up and running somtime today ;)

Try turning off the notifications in the stock messaging app and see if that helps. Also, have you tried deleting the data and reinstalling the apps? Finally, did you clear data and caches before installing the ROM?

- Tried turning off notifications in stock, didn't fix handcent.
- What exactly do you mean by "deleting the data and reinstalling the apps"? I tried reinstalling both handcent and gosms multiple times and they crashed every time I tried using them.
- And yes, I did a complete wipe prior to ROM install, following CyberWarrior's guide completely.

I use Handcent so much, if I can't get this fixed I'll have to find another rom to use because I do not want to use the stock sms/mms app.

Installed the 1.5 remix Rom last night and everything went very smoothly. It ran fine and after getting my core apps restored, I wasn't exactly sure how to quantify qn improvement but it felt good. After looking at the post or two above me about installing the base zip file from hboot, I figure I might as well since I was hoping the Rom included the new radio.

This is exactly the phone I have been waiting to have. While I side loaded the Rom zip last night with my desktop, since I am away from my computer this morning I simply downloaded the base zip with my phone, moved it to the root directory with astro and rebooted into hboot. The robustness is simply wonderful. The radio installed without an issue and I seem to be running smoothly.

My only complaint is that with the reskinned launcher bar, the right button is misleading on all themes but the bamf and HTC theme (internet globe vs. Personalize pallet). Sure you can remap the rosie button to other applications, but you cant map it to the personalize menu. It would be cool if when you remap the image is changed to which ever app it is mapped too. Mapping button to the stock messages app does work though, as an error about not find the path flashes by. The app works if you open it from the launcher of widget though.

It would also be nice to be able to choose between the dark themes market and the green/white theme as the dark one is just simply too dark and doesn't look right. Other than. These two items, the Rom seems wonderful and thank-you for all the work put into it!

little help for this noob...ive tried everything i can think of and read in this thread..when i try to install the radio via hboot it just aborts...any ideas?

Why does it say it aborts? Is the zip file in the root directory? Use astro file explorer from the market to make sure it is in the root directory and not in the downloads directory. Also make sure there isn't a .zip.zip extension on the file.

ive downloaded and deleted the radio several times from several links...once i go into hboot in always starts by saying no image or wrong image (something like that) i continue into recovery..install zip from sd card, find zip, hit install and it comes back installation aborted....should i be selecting the option..(apply /sdcard/update.zip) instead of choosing the zip? should i try to flash the rom first? would that screw anything up?

First make sure you put the PG05IMG.zip in the root of your SD card. (Not in any Folders). Then turn the phone off and reboot the phone into bootloader (Press power button and Vol. Down at the same time) It will then search your sd card for the file and ask if you want to install. Press Vol. Up to begin installing. Make sure to do this in bootloader(The one with the skateboarding androids at the bottom) and NOT Clockwork Recovery

all that was confirmed correctly done with the same results..no/wrong image. i am stock with root only, should i flash this rom first and then the radio?

My wifi does not seem to work with this package. I had no issues with 1.4 but now on the 1.5r and it just can obtain the address to connect. Anyone else?

think i figured it out (mac) ...had to download directly to sd card...no copy/paste..now let see if i have problems from flashing radio after rom...

What happens exactly? Does it just not connect, or does it give an error somewhere? Besides trying to start your wifi from a widget, did you try directly from the system menu?

First, just want to say I love the ROM. A couple questions, though..

1. I had been using swiftkey keyboard prior to rooting and loading this ROM and its launcher . Since using this ROM, when I install swiftkey, it loads up properly, but after I reboot, the keyboard reverts back to the stock keyboard. Even when I disable and re-enable swiftkey, the stock remains. Anyone have any input as to how I can fix this?

2. My touchscreen doesnt seem as responsive when swiping from one homescreen to the next in this launcher. Also transitions from one homescreen just don't seem as smooth with this launcher, as compared with stock (or launcher pro). Does anyone else notice this, or is it just me??

Thanks!

Has anyone here restored their Amazon apps after flashing this ROM? Can they be restored using Titanium Backup or do they have to be re-installed through the Amazon app? Also, I'm wondering if I can use Titanium Backup to "restore" market links to all my Amazon (free) paid apps so that they can update through the regular market...Any thoughts?

Just re-install the Amazon Appstore (probably still on your SD card under downloads) and re-install apps that way. It will automatically prompt you asking if you wish to install previously purchased apps.

Actually, Titanium Backup restored all the apps from the Amazon App store as well! So no worries...I like the (free) paid Amazon apps, but updating and installing through their app is much slower than the regular market (in my experience at least).

Tried using the Titanium Backup "Market Doctor" to see if it would link the Amazon apps to the Android market, but didn't seem to work. Oh well.

I use My Backup Pro, all apps restored fine, including Amazon apps.
