[ROM] [04.19.11] BAMF Remix 1.5 - New base RUU plus more! *UPDATE*

Ok so I have 1.5 up and running. Runs excellent except for the fact that my browser just shuts off while loading webpage. None experiencing this. It's not foreclosing it just shuts off. I wiped everything before I installed. Installed the newest radio also. Were I live there isn't 4G yet maby that is my problem?

Can we use the older 4.3c kernel instead of 4.4.2?

This ROM is absolutely awesome. I must be one of the unlucky people that can't stably overclock to 1.4+ GHz on the 4.4.2 kernel, though.

I found that earlier Kernels from Adrynalyne came in three flavors -- with the third type (type "C") overvolting the device more for more stability when overclocking ([KERNEL][4.14.2011][2.6.32.21] Kernels from Adrynalyne (Now on Kernel Manager!) - xda-developers)

Would it be okay to use 4.3c instead of the default 4.4.2 kernel with BAMF 1.5? I'm thinking yes since you can swap kernels (I see people running "leankernel") and that it won't interfere with the new radio (i believe that's related to the base, which is part of the ROM and not the kernel...?).

Please correct my understanding if I'm way off and let me know what adverse effects might arise from loading the stated kernel.

Thanks!!

Yep, you will be fine running any kernel you wish. I went back to 4.3b after I flashed the 1.5bamf cause I just couldn't get the battery life I had with 4.3b.

I'm testing out leankernel extreme right now....

Leankernel extreme? Man i went with leankernel normal 1.41GHz. I was not sure how a highly overclocked kernel would be so went with a safer one. Hows it workin out?

I'm using BAMF 1.5 remix, factory radio and lean kernal extreme right now.
Scaling on smartass with a screen off and battery <20% profile.

Rock solid, stable and very, very fast. Great battery too.
Just keep in mind, when you clock down the CPU when the screen is off (great idea) when you first wake it up it's a little laggy for 2 seconds. Don't' fret...

They put out 3 different flavors of radio, new CDMA old LTE, new LTE old CMDA and new both.
Tried them all and my phone/location like the old factory radio.

After flashing BAMF 1.5 remix and the lean kernel normal, do you still need to do anything to set the overclocking/undervolting? Or has it already been done automatically?

You'll need to install and setup SetCPU. The kernel only gives you the ability to overclock, doesn't actually do it for you. There are other threads on it all over the place, just do a search. If you can't figure out the settings let me know, and I'll try to help you.

Stuckhereforever is correct. You'll need to search and find an app called SetCPU. You can configure it a bunch of different ways. Let me know if you need help. I have about 5 profiles set for the phone to do different things based on certain priorities.

Now the LeanKernel will do some things already on its own. Its already set to run at 1.4GHz but using less voltage. However... I like SetCPU's ability to underclock the core when the screen is off, if battery gets too hot, etc...

hey i'm pretty much still a n00b at this i did flash BAMF remix 1.5 using the guide here but I have no idea what this lean kernel is. by default which kernel do i have?

isnt kernel like the OS?

I downloaded the sexy rosie for DAS BAMF remix 1.5 and I flashed it and I can find it in the sys/app folder using astro, however I cannot get it to display on my phone.

How do I make this my default rosie?

Thanks in advance!

Are you using the HTC Skin in your personalization options?

Homescreen>Menu>Personalize>Skin

Set it for HTC.

I downloaded the updated Rosie icon but I didn't see it because I was using the wrong skin. Change yours to HTC and see what happens.

BTW... what is this Sexy Rosie you speak of?

I tried that and it is the same one that came stock with the REMIX download. Hate to say it, but I'm stuck.

To use the sexy launcher if my memory serves right-

Go to the manage applications drawer / all apps / HTC sense / clear defaults

Then go to your homescreen and either long press the "home" soft key or press home a few times. It'll now let you select your prefered launcher.
