No, I wont be putting a Radio update in a ROM. That is generally frowned upon in the Dev community.

I will make note of this in the OP so others will know.

I can confirm flashing the radio and prl will resolve most any issue connectivity issues.

That looks like it still has the original 0.97.10.0808 Radio.. Do you know what the new radio version is that just came out today? Or am i missing something? (highly possible!) Thanks for the help

Sorry was on my phone, here is quoted text from the news article they posted about the update on the main android central page.

"We've lauded HTC and Sprint before for the way updates are handled on the EVO 3D, and it's time to do so again. There's a little update coming over the air now. One addition is a widget, the other is ... something. (Update: Ooo! New radio.) But that the EVO 3D can continue to get minor updates without causing major trouble is a pretty big deal. Nicely done."

Maybe they just meant its some kind of radio patch that doesn't change the radio version? I'm not really sure what they meant by "new radio". I just read that and thought it meant the radio version would get a bump.

That article is wrong. Its not a radio update it an update to to the spcscorp.apk, NOT the radio.

That APK conttrols the 4G service. But its not a radio, its a software APK. (Think of drivers for your PC)

I'll post on the article to let them know.

GOOD NEWS. Ok, so when I woke up today and it was mentioned that radio update AND PRL update fixed the issue. Last night I don't think I did a PRL update after flashing the firmware stuff from the newest release. So when I woke up I did a PRL update, and WHAM, I am no longer roaming!

I have now wiped and flashed to cleanrom 2.1 everything is working great. So finally everything is good.

CleanROM 2.2 is up!

CleanROM was designed to be a cleaned up Sprint Stock ROM with some features and enhancements! This is not a heavily themed ROM! All HTC and Google Apps are uptdate as of 8/27/2011.
ROM is de-odexed and based on official Sprint RUU 2.08.651.2.

I exchanged my updated phone for one without the update, rooted and flashed this, the only rom I'll ever want to use. Thanks for developing this.
Couple of questions.

* Are you (or me) able to restore the Sprint TV and Sprint Update apps? Just wondering?
* The "pure" gingerbread has a cool app drawer, I'm sure you've seen it. Any way to integrate into this ROM?
*Any way to get the green lantern back on the phone just to be able to watch it?

Some people say they think its required... Some people dont. As you can see the guy below did not flash a radio and he had no issues at all. I never flashed radio during testing and had no issues. I then later updated the radio in hopes of getting better reception (and maybe even got a tiny bit) and had no issues.

I think its all on "user experience" that decides the radio upgrade need. Try it without upgrading. If you get funky roaming issues then you know you need to upgrade.

Sprint crapware is in the ROM Updater. Look there. Its been there since 2.1....

The app draw you speak of is actually included in my SenselessROM series. Im intamtely familiar with it. You can download it from authors thread here if you want it: (APK ) Launcher 2 w/ 3D Scroll for Sensation & Evo 3D Final Update! - xda-developers

Green Lantern is stored on you SD Card and is not touched by the ROM. You can access it using the HTC Watch application. If you have issues doing that let me know.

Its an hboot flash, not a recovery flash. rename zip file to "PG86IMG.zip" Place on the root of SD Card. remove battery from phone. Put battery back in, Hold volume down and press the power button while doing so... Let the magic begin....
