Your current Android version doesn't matter. This ROM is 2.3.4. The hboot is what can cause problems. That being said you are on 1.4 so you're golden. You need to gain root access, install a custom recovery, and then you can flash all the ROMs you want. The revolutionary root method also installs a recovery I think. Anyway this will get you started.

CleanROM is superb. In fact, since Sunday I have not had any reason to reboot my phone. Previously, with the Sprint Stock ROM, I had to reboot once a day or more. That was because my phone would fail to get a 3G signal again after coming out of airplane mode. Due to the nature of my work I have to use airplane mode a lot during the day. It was getting to be a real pain in the neck having to reboot my phone almost every time I wanted to come out of airplane mode.

Have I had any 3G/airplane mode problems with CleanROM 2.8? No! This ROM is spectacular. Thanks, Scott!

Camera force closes when I press the effects button. I use that a lot lol reverting to 2.8

I am getting that problem with both wifi and 3g connections. Also Rom updater crashes on me, what is the fix for that?

Read the instuctions posted / linked to ROM Updater. Your signal issues are being caused by bad flash or possibly an hboot 1.5 issue.

Scott, what are your plans for ICS? Do you plan on incorporating it into your Rom? Are there even any features on it that we don't already get with your Rom? It seems like a bunch of the stuff is already available my phone now (through your Rom and custom launchers).

I'm just wondering if you are bummed thinking this will set your work back, excited to start working on the new ICS, or if it means nothing to you? lol

I will do an ICS ROM when sprint makes it available. I wont "port" one to this device as it will surely turn out like CM 7.1, not funny functional.

I am not all bummed and I am looking forward to the challenge of starting over. I get board from time to time with the status quo.

I think maybe you mean when there is an ICS for the EVO 3D, you will make a Rom out of it for the EVO 3D... but you will not take ICS from another phone and use it for this device? HA! I think I am catching on! lol

And out of curiosity... how long after the ICS comes out would it take you to come out with a ROM? ... I know, but it is YOUR fault for getting us all excited about your ROMs!

So Scott! I had a GREAT idea and I donated some money to you. I have had a few old "Visa gift cards" sitting on my desk for a while that didn't have much money left on them (like less than $4, $2 and even $1). I can't really buy anything with them but I didn't want to throw them out. Then it hit me... I could donate that money to you. I am writing this because I figure I am not the only one with old gift cards laying around. Rather than trow them out... these small amounts could add up? If anybody has any laying around, they should think about doing this.

Yes you understand what I mean about porting.

How fast can I get an ICS ROM done? Depends if I am at work or not when the files I need get released. If I am at work... then I have to wait to get home... Then from there... Download what I need.. After that... Were talking maybe a couple hours? It all depends... Will never be more than 24 hours I can tell you that. I have no problem calling in sick to work so I can make a ROM, lol (Yeah, to me, its that serious)

Look at my Optimus ROM.. The day they started pushing the GB update I was at work. Got home at 10:00PM and had a ROM done before Midnight (yeah, really) Sprint pushed update, I had fully functional custom ROM being downloaded, at a faster rate than official Sprint ROM, within 2 hours.

I think ICS may be more of a challenge though, IDK... So about 6 hours after seeing the files I need I should have something in the lines of a beta level ROM uploaded for you to play with.

But... Lots of variables... Will I be at work? Will be on a airplane? Will I be sick with pneumonia... I hate to say yes to any of those but obviously they add lead time to production.

Also with the gift cards, i was thinking there must be MILLIONS out there in lose money. You may be surprised at how fast it adds up. Especially if gets people to donate that may not have otherwise? And Christmas is coming? lol

Hey Scott, I am still on CleanROM 2.8 Over this weekend my phone stopped blinking the little green light to notify me of new emails and texts. I'm not sure exactly when it stopped blinking when a new items comes in, but it definitely doesn't blink anymore. What could be the cause of that and how could I fix it?

Nevermind. I was able to find the notifications settings deep within the bowels of Android. For some reason all the blink notifications were unchecked. Which is very strange because I know for a fact the blink notification worked earlier this week. I know it worked because I was amazed that the blinking continued even 20 minutes after receiving a text. The stock Sprint ROM stopped blinking after just a few minutes, terribly useless!

I need assistance in resolving two issues i have with cleanrom2.8. My problem i feel is not due to the network (wifi or 3g/4g) but due to how the phone processes the sites. ROM updater : the app is still a work in progress, you can minimize crashes by not looking at the screen shots.

Web pages not loading : I am pretty sure this is due to the ad blocking host file. If you get ROM updater working I believe the original stock host file is available to download and flash. If you can't get it to work let me know, I can get it for you.

It is not in any of the CleanROMs. Carrier IQ Free!!

Wifi tether issue... Used to use barnacle tether and I could connect wireless with my 802.11b xp laptop. Barnacle no longer works with clean rom and my laptop is unable to see the hotspots created by both sprint hotspots and wifi tether apps. Is there a workaround? Thanks.
