I wish there were a way to get a notice "hboot 1.5 full root now available". I am sick of coming on here 50 times a day hoping to see it! I feel like a kid on x-mas eve waking up every 5 minutes hoping Santa came!

What are you talking about? Full root is available. Its been available since htc unlocks.com was out.

Hey Scott I just noticed that on InfectedROM's newest rom they were able to boost the back camera to 8MP. Any chance that can get in 2.6?

Read there notes closely its says in small print (Needs work), lol....

Last time I looked at the 8 meg cam, like on Monday.... There was no stable version. It was buggy. But if you can confirm no one is finding issues with it then yeah, I will certainly look into it!

Right now Gameloft games are not currently supported so you WILL loose those. Everything else should be fine.

So, I can still re-download the games, right? 'Cause that's all I'm worried about....

Have you rooted yet? If not and you choose the Revolutionary method, TWRP recovery is included in there. Just say yes when it asks you if you want to install it.

Wait, now I'm second guessing myself...is it TWRP or Clockwork that's included?? Either way, you'll get a recovery by using that method.

No, I have not rooted. I really wanna do this. So, I root first, which unlocks the.phone, then install a custom.ROM? And I gotta back everything up on my PC, right?

I have released a minor Service Pack for CleanROM 2.5!


It address two issues, the first is the extended modes in the camera not actually working. The second is the HTC Photo Frame Widget not displaying the actual frame.

Hey Scott, do you have a link to the post where you found the camera mods? I'm still trying to figure out what method they are using to get the HDR effect. I can tell its doing something now after the update though

And why do the xda developers site they are currently working on a full root for 1.5 and why does the site you referenced not mention anything about the EVO 3d or a 1.5 full root? And the full root threads on this site say "This will not work if you have hboot1.5, only 1.3 and 1.4"?

And this is what it says in the xda site "As it stands the only way of root is the HTCDEV.com way which is HTC's way of unlocking it when it comes to 1.50 Hboot"

I think we are confusing terminology.... Let me explain...

Before hboot 1.5 we had 1.3 / 1.4. To gain root access we needed revolutionary. It changed the S-ON to S-OFF. That allowed writing to the devices protected partitions. From there you could install a custom recovery and then install a root package or better yet. Flash a custom ROM.

with hboot 1.5 we use the HTC Method. It unlocks the protected partitions such as system and recovery. From there you can install a custom recovery and then install root or flash a custom ROM. It does not touch the S-ON flag. It doesnt need to. Its irrelevant at this point because HTC unlocked what we needed to unlock.

Does that explain or where you meaning something else?

Hey scott ... please please please put the sd card speed tweek as a flashable update to the rom updater or include it in the next version if possible every time I reboot I have to kill the sense app in order for my sd card apps icons to be right.

I usually only wipe cache and dalvik on these types of updates. I do a full wipe and factory reset going from one version to another - just to be safe.

yes every time I restart my phone I get the default android icons (for the apps on the SD card) and have to kill the sense app and then everything is good.
