I was able to download the app from pc and everything installed ok. I download all the previous versions of the market from the above post but none of them will install..don't know what else to try.

ok so im new to the whole rooting game, i finally rooted and did clean rom a few days ago (i am not sure what version that is) but it looks like you updated it today. so questions about updating? do people usually do a full backup before updating. i know there are several apps ive heard of but which one is best/most common. and what is the gROM disclaimer in the updating instructions. are you able to flash 2 roms at once and that is just a caveat if you have the gROM installed also because i was under the impression that you can only use one rom at once?

thanks for the update scrosler. Did the update via clockworkmod and flashed the rom flawlessly. Then did a restore via Titanium but can't fine wifitether apk anywhere in system? Just wondering why I can't see the app. I was able to restore a backup copy from titanium but thought the latest beta would be in the ver 2.7...

Flashed 2.8 yesterday afternoon and am really liking it a lot. Lol, I actually backed up my apps, did a nandroid, wiped and flashed while sitting in a traffic jam. Talk about constructive use of time! Thanks for all of your hard work, scrosler, it is very much appreciated.

CarrieK thanks so much for your helpful posts. I did the same thing but had some questions when doing the restore using Titanium. Do you just restore the user apps but the system apps as well? Also is seems when you do a restore from backup, Titanium restores all user apps to Ram and you then have to move the apps to SD card using the 'move to sd card' batch afterwards? What if you have toooooooo many apps that won't fit to Ram if you have to restore? I'm just curious because I'm not sure how else everyone is restoring their devices after complete wipe and flash of roms. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Too many to fit on you EVO 3D? lol. How is that even possible? I have over 100 apps and none are moved to my sd card! I thought that was a lot of apps too!

Are you sure you don't have the room? Or did you just move apps to your card for good measure?

Just double checked. My 100 apps only take just over half of my internal storage.

Thanks for your kind words! . I actually keep all of my apps on my EVO 3D itself. The reason is because I change out sd cards quite a bit. I just haven't gotten around to getting a 32gb card, so I change cards depending on what I am doing. I take pictures and videos constantly, and I have an 8gb card that is just about all music, and then I have all my rooting stuff and Nandroids, which take up room pretty quickly. I know it is just a matter of cleaning it up and plan on moving a bunch of stuff to cd or one of my flash drives. I just haven't done it yet. I am not so sure a 32gb card will be the best thing for me because I will probably clog it up with stuff pretty quickly

When I back up using Titanium I just back up the app itself. I don't try to restore data. I have run into issues before when I've done that so as long as I get my apps and my contacts back (which are tied to my Google account) then I'm all good. And of course my pics, videos, and music are all on the sd cards.
There are some gamers here who may be able to advise you on how to save progress, scores, and levels and stuff like that. I do have some games but I just start over.

I hope that my insomniac ramblings have helped you and if you have any other questions just ask and I will do my best to help. And if I can't, there are better minds than mine here who can and will gladly help.

Scott, I know I can run cleanrom on 1.5 (right?) but will the sprint wifi hotspot either be unlocked...or can I use the wifi tether program and tether with 4G? I know 4G tethering would work on 1.4 but want to make sure it will still work on 1.5 (unlock thru HTC). Thanks!!

Yes, you can run CleanROM on 1.5 it is just a little different flash process than 1.4. Scott has directions on his site. Oh, and yes both hot spot and wifi tether work as long as you follow the steps.

I am on 1.5 and everything works great on my phone.

First off sweet job Scott, this takes me back to the awesome job that the users at precentral had put in to make my pre what it was. It was a long struggle to root the thing since i got lost in between the htc unlock method and what the next step was. Though i ran into a big hurdle and that is that i cant download my apps off of the market. I was able to download a few apps, but then i got an error message saying i had insufficient memory and i wasnt able to download the rest of my apps. I know for certain that i have enough space on my phone/card to get the rest of my apps. If anyone can help i would really be much obliged. When i use the file explorer i see all the data from my apps, and i dont know if i am supposed to erase all of them.

Go too menu-settings-applications-Scroll to Market-clear cache and data-exit out launch Market and give it a try.

Is anyone else getting random reboots? My phone will freeze for 3-5 sec and then go into the white 'HTC' screen and boot back up. Never had an issues with previous versions of cleanrom or senseless and have been running both for a little over 6 months back and forth. Any ideas? Last time this happened I had opened the stock music app and it froze. Not really a program specific error from what I have seen.
