Scott, today I installed CleanROM 2.8 on my hboot 1.5 phone. I used the HTC method, then your TWRP script tool (thanks!), then flashed the ROM, then used fastboot bootloader to load the boot.img I pulled from the CleanROM Zip file. I believe I did everything correctly.

The phone boots properly, I can do stuff on the phone like using the Market, web browsing, weather app, etc. However, my 3G speeds are atrocious. Not bad, but absolutely atrocious. What have I done wrong?

Be gentle, if you don't mind. This is the first time I have ever done any Android rooting/flashing/customizing. And thank you for making such a nice ROM. It really is fast.

Quick question. I want to remove beats and use crt animation instead. I understand I can't use them both together on 1.50. How do go about removing Beats? It's not in the app list. I got beats from the rom updater.

I followed your advice and it did help a lot. My speeds still aren't all that great, but it's far, far better than it was at first. Honestly, I think it might be the 3G tower near my home. When I went out to lunch I performed the PRL update and Profile update. After I did that I ran the speed test again and got great results (over 1Mbps). Then I came home and ran the speed test again and it was pretty lousy, but still better than what I had at first.

Scott, and other kernel gurus, would you take a look at my Hboot 1.5 guide for newbies and see if I missed anything? I don't know for sure that I did the kernel installation properly for a new installation of CleanROM 2.8 onto an Hboot 1.5 phone. Thanks everyone.

Reflash the rom, but only clear the caches. Don't do a full wipe.
After you are booted up go back and flash CRT animations.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of participation but I know I left you in good hands with Newboyx!

I have been working on ROMS for the Evo 4G so been putting in a lot of hours on that.

Quickest way to know if you flashed a ROM / kernel proper with 1.5 is to turn on wifi. If it works then you did it right

Hey i ran into another issue which i feel is new with the cleanrom, which i didnt experience stock. I am having issues viewing web pages with any browser on the device, like dolphin, firefox and the stock one. If i follow a link or try to open the browser and go to webpages i get the msg saying that the webpage not available. I do know that these links are good and worked when phone was stock. Now being a noob with rooting an android phone, i may have missed something and i hope that someone on this thread can help me solve this issue, since its just annoying. I resolved my previous issue and thanks for those that had advised me on the help

Camera force closes when I press the effects button. I use that a lot lol reverting to 2.8

You are on HBOOT 1.5, search this forum for information on flashing the kernel so that you can use WiFi and 4g.

Scott, what are your plans for ICS? Do you plan on incorporating it into your Rom? Are there even any features on it that we don't already get with your Rom? It seems like a bunch of the stuff is already available my phone now (through your Rom and custom launchers).

I'm just wondering if you are bummed thinking this will set your work back, excited to start working on the new ICS, or if it means nothing to you? lol

I'm fairly new to this. I have a hboot 1.40 with 2.3.3 . Now the n00b qusetion of the week is . Will this work with 2.3.3 ? Please don't laugh to hard . I know computers better than phones but I catch on quick . I just figured it would be better to ask the experts instead of taking a gamble.
