[ROM][ACS][STOCK] "Swiss Cheese Samsprint" EE03 :: GPS/GTalk voice/video fix! :: 5/16

After having a ton of issues with ED12 (getting stuck in Airplane mode, modem crashing, etc), I finally got the EE03 installed, with all the addons, minus the modem ...

Have any of you used Heimdall on mac??? I can not get it to recognize my phone.

Upgrading my stock Epic4

Good afternoon all,

I'm a newbee on the Android scene but would like to update my Epic4 to this new version and see what its all about. When I try to download the OneClickRoot my MS essentials AV flags the file as Virus infected and deletes it, we are sure that it's not infected right? before I disable my AV and re download, just checking..

Yes disable the antivirus, redownload the the OneClickRoot CWM 3.0.2.5 file and try again.

I'm also a noob when you flash the modem using odin where do you get the pit file
No pit file included/needed for modem.

Just place the modem file in PDA or PHONE slot (doesn't matter) and click only Auto Reboot and hit START.

So far so good, only bug I've noticed is occasionally when switching from 4g back to 3g you have to toggle airplane mode to get 3g kicked in the pants and working again. Not a big deal really as it happens randomly.

Flash it and find out. Worst case is something crashes and you have to reflash the EC05 modem.
UPDATE = EE05 Modem works on ACE 2.0 and Urban Fury = will try on Bonsai ( kOnane has already said it works on SRF , so will take his word on that one already ) ***I'm still a noob as you can see ... LOL ... I've been using the EE05 Modem since last night when I loaded up that SwissCheese and totally forgot it was on my phone now ... LOL***

You may need to try and Odin back to EC05, run the OCR CWM 3.0.2.5. and get a GPS lock first. Then afterwards flash Gingerbread and see what happens.

Do any of the tweaks (Fugu for example) work on EE03?
Fugu? Not familiar with that one.. (Don't laugh.. hehe) Otherwise tweaks from what? EC05? EC05 themes, etc. will not flash over Gingerbread if that is what your asking. Different frameworks, etc...

Anyone had any luck pushing a bootanimation via root explorer? I got the shutdown animation to work. I dropped the bootanimation.zip in the media file and deleted the bootani.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg and my boot animation won't run just a black screen plus that stupid start up sound.

I don't believe the kernel is setup to handle custom boot animations.

any radio fixes for it failing to turn itself on when doing carrier specific things like mms?

Bwahahahaha, I feel like an idiot. I totally forgot I couldn't push an animation without a custom kernel. I guess I thought I was going to get lucky when the shutdown animation worked.

The shutdown animation is just a collection of loose images. The boot animation is in a proprietary file format.
