the only thing holding me back from this ROM is how laggy it is. ED12 has a better framerate in scrolling (and even that was kinda bad and laggy). Now, it's so slow that it feels like I have a Hero again.

I want the Nexus S so bad....

This would be why I'm not completely bummed about the potential bugs in EE03. I reactivated my Epic to give it a shot but if I'm not satisfied I'll go back to my Nexus S and wait until we get a more stable release.

Well I decided to jump from SRF 1.1 over to this. Everything worked out pretty smooth. Odin'ed the modem right over SRF. Upgraded CWM from 3.0.0.6 to 3.0.2.5, wiped, then flahsed EE03. Flashed the noCIQ and the addons. All went without a hitch. GPS locked right on.


I did have trouble getting 3g to work after I left the Wifi at my house. I tried airplane mode, nothing. Tried 4g... THEN 4g SAID CONNECTED! I didn't even know I had 4g in my area. Apparently it's fairly new and pretty spotty, but it was such a sweet feeling to finally have it. oh, a few more airplane mode toggles and 3g worked. No problems since.


Also tried FM radio, but it kept giving me "could not turn FM radio on". Just reporting that.


Got FC's after I installed the root explorer .apk that was on my sd card. Installed and worked fine on SRF, but as soon as I open it on EE03 it FC's right away. Don't know what it's related to but I wanted to report that as well.

Having massive battery issues. Full charge to full drain in 6-7 hours with screen off in standby the whole time. Anyone else?
Oh, and the phone always feels hot on the back just below the camera lens

Another quick issue... Had a complete signal failure. It's like it was stuck in Airplane mode and wouldn't come out of it. Reboots didn't work, ended up having to restore a backup.

I must say I love the Gingerbread goodness... just a couple things I've noticed:

Audio out through USB (for the car jack) is once again broken like it was in 2.1
When switching from 4G coverage back to 3G coverage (on it's own) it sometimes "hangs" and doesn't grab the 3G, leaving my with voice service but no data.
The GPS works, but seems to randomly lose cell phone coverage all the time (and tell me about it) even though I see 5 bars
The FM radio says it's working--but is silent.
When listening to music, or running apps that run in the background, the icon shows at the top, but the app is not there when I pull down the bar to kill it--this seems to be random. Nav is always there, but music sometimes dissapears (even though the icon stays).

Anyone else experience this?

Yep.. Nothing new here... 4g to 3g hanging, toggle airplane mode...

Cell coverage... Varies for people...

FM Radio, not even really being taken into consideration since its not actually part of the ROM since its an add on flashable.

Audio Out... I don't use so no comment.

Yes FM Radio only for GB. EE03 is a very good build but it does have a few bugs. It can very easily be used as a daily driver.

Main bug list.

4g to 3g switch occasionally hangs and needs airplane mode toggle to resolve (happen to me only a few times since EE03 was released)

Some have reported random reboots (I haven't had this)

WI FI coverage seems to be not as strong but still works good.

4g coverage from new modem seems alot better for many.

FM Radio addon works for some and not for others (Not part of the ROM itself so not being taken to seriously)

A bit laggy on screen transitions here and there. ( Its noticeable but not as but as some make it out to be.)


Overall like I said, I've been running it since it dropped and I have no problems using it as a daily driver. All the main functions for daily use work.

no the 3g not handing off properly alone is enough not for it to pass sprints quality check.

• Google talk video chat was buggy for me. Received video but didn't transmit. Used rear camera, no option to switch.
• FM tuner could not turn the FM radio on.
• Netflix worked great.
• Roaming guard kept turning on despite my many efforts to disable it.
• By the end of the day I was stuck in Airplane mode. Cleared user data and cache and got my cellular radio back but no 3g.

Back to SRF 1.1.0 for now.

My EE03 Quadrant score was 900+, compared to my EC05 score of 700+

No this will not be the final build.

You would be surprised what passes Sprints quality check.. Look at Froyo...

There is now a GTalk patch...
FM tuner is not a big issue since its technically not part of the ROM only an add on.

Had to ditch it. I cant see how people are using this as a daily. I tried several wipes and reflashes. My 3G signal dropping randomly, the occasional lag, my corporate email not working, the data being insanely slow and the battery life not being at its best. I just couldnt do it. Flashed back to EC05 and will be going back to my Nexus and enjoying the Gingerbread on that side of the fence until a more stable build is released for the Epic. I really did love the way it looked though.
