You get the Franco Kernel Updater from the play store? Is that official? I don't mind paying for a good piece of software just want to make sure it's actually going to the dev.

If anyone wants to give a go at building it like I did:
Protekk's Instructions This package works with Open-JDK which is installed by default on Ubuntu. No need to mess with the headache of setting up Java-6 or deleting code on the AOSP builds

Build 1 is still lacking some features that I rely on (volume media skip, customizable shortcuts on lockscreen, etc.). I'll be sticking with Skank for now but will definitely be keeping an eye on AOKP. Can't wait until navwidgets gets re-implemented and maybe even hybrid mode! (if that's still planned).

I d/led it but have to run early start to the day, maybe I check back later before I flash to see if
anyone has a problem. Really want to be back on the Unicorn.

If I use the 726 gapps will it auto restore?

I guess I really haven't had enough time with it yet to make a good assessment but it's great so far. Using stock kernel and battery life looks to be on track with what I had with skank which was good. Auto restore works on the official 726 gapps for me. Very smooth. I do miss the lock screen targets a little but not too much. I never used them that much. I highly recommend it so far. Also, I've been using nova since day one with my gnex but tried the apex jelly bean beta and it seems to be much more smooth and I haven't looked back.

Yea Franco's milestone didn't really impress me as it was choppy all night long last night. I finally just reinstalled everything and stuck with the stock AOKP kernel which is doing fine.

So far nice and smooth.

I've only been running this for about 2hrs, and no real issues. Only one was some lag with screen touches and the navigation bar. After I increased the CPU to 1420 its gone. Never had that issue in the night lies. Also I did a clean install, wiped everything twice. Using the stock kernel as well.

The "stock" aokp kernel is faux's, you can find a thread for it on rootz if you need to reflash it. Also you can just dirty flash the ROM (and gapps) on top of itself if you ever just want the included kernel back after you flash something else, no need to fully wipe
