[ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS

Ok new to thread
SO so is this working except a few issues with mms and video?
Im running a CM7 (also beta) and im thinking about flashing this (after a nandroid backup)
As long as i can make phone calls and get texts ill survive, will this work for me?

I was also using CM7. Flashed to this and really like the interface, and the coolness. It is still buggy. Sometimes the apps load a little slow. You have to enable the speaker phone button to be heard on a phone call. The one thing I really miss is blue tooth phone in my car. FWIW, I flashed back to CM7 for those very reasons and ended up really disliking CM7. So I flashed back to CM9 and live with the bugs for now. I seem to not have any problems with MMS and you tube is working fine. I flashed the 7-19 nightly this morning and all seems fine except for the known issues. Even seems a bit snappier. My .02 anyhow. I like it, bugs and all!

i dont think your answer could have been more perfect.. ill bee flashing this weekend once i clean up and back up. i dont use blue tooth, so the other issues i can handle.

I thought I'd attempt to be helpful so I took a logcat of going into airplane mode and back out so that maybe it would expose something about the roaming. (cause in status it does claim that is on, it's not just the indicator)

Is the newest nightly the best ?

I am currently using the 7-19. Seems to be fine. You can look at the changelog files. Takes awhile to understand what they are talking about, but can be helpful. Newer seems to have fewer bugs. I would say newest is best. That being said, I don't flash every nightly unless I see something in the changelog I feel would benefit my phone. Make sure and do a backup and if you haven't already, save all your sd card to your pc and use the sd ext partition in the recovery. It will format the sd, but I think this rom needs it. Hope this is of help.

Did a nand backup and ended up having to restore because i could not make a phone call

ok after i flash, why cant i get a signal? turned on all the data and roaming options, but i have no signal...

I always do this:

1. Make a full nandroid backup.
2. Wipe:
- Data/Factory Reset
- /data
- /cache
- /sdcard/.android_secure
- /system
- Dalvik-Cache
3. Flash ROM.
4. Flash gapps (make sure you get a version the dev recommends if they recommend one, which this dev has one on the ROM page).
5. Reboot.

I have no idea why you flash your ROMs like you do, seems really strange. I wouldn't doubt if that was the cause if your issue.

I followed this. I am having a problem finding the gapps file however.

Did you flash the gapps also. The developer has it somewhere.

re wiped and flashed again including gapps and have the same issue.

when i try to make a call it says "out of service area" but the "bars" are lit up blue before i try to call

any help would be great. im making a nandroid of it so i can switch back and forth easily

So i'm probably wrong but is it possible this has something to do with the statusbar clock not updating?
"D/PhoneStatusBar( 2190): disable: < expand icons alerts ticker system_info back* home* recent clock* >"
I saw that in a log I was looking over from last night.

fyi i am on 7/20 CM9 (forgot to confirm that sorry)

I am currently running 7/19. I am in the process of flashing the 7/20. Maybe that is the problem.

edit 1: 7/20 booted just fine. What settings do you have selected for wireless&networks/Mobile networks/system select ? Mine is set to Automatic.

Is your sdcard partitioned? I did have some issues with the sd ext app when I first flashed. I had to save all my files to a pc and then format the sd card with recovery. 0M for swap and 512M for sdext3. then replace the backed up files to the sd card and then flash and boot. using the format to sd ext on recovery will format the entire sd card, so make sure you have a backup of it.

edit: I was using sd ext app when I was on cm7. You do not need it with cm9.

Are you wiping /system? Make sure you do that...
