[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM][WIP] CM7 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 9-29-2011

Going by the comments on the gmail Market page, Seems notifications are not working.

As for the Market.

A couple markets to try. There is a newer market 3.1.5. Market_3.1.5.apk

And the newest 3.1.6, which is supposed to fix the download bug. Vending.apk

To install:
Move the Vending.apk to /system/app
Set permission like the pic in the link

Somebody already did it. They didn't sign it. Here you go Market 3.1.6, flash in recovery.
I fixed it in the attachment below.

New market worked perfectly!!! Any thoughts on the usb storage problem? Could it be my sd card?

Re: [ROM][WIP] CM7 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 9-29-2011

You could try removing it and reinstalling the SDCARD. Or trying a different usb port. I'll be up for a few hours if you want to trouble shoot.

Diggin the new boot screen, a lot of pink, but its still darn slick. Thank you very much, I don't really feel like going through the hassle of upgrading to the latest firmware yet....

I am looking into the wireless tethering timeouts. I have noticed on mine it does get hot using tethering for long periods of time. Maybe that's the reason. Going thru the CM7 posts, many have recommended Wifi tether. You can adjust the tx power output to save on battery life. And there are Optimus S settings in the menu. I managed to get a clear skype video call for about an hour using it without it shutting down.

Thanks scrosler for the links

Tried both methods and had no luck. It seems after pressing "turn usb storage on" the dial moves for about 10 seconds then freezes. After about 20 seconds of freezing the screen turns to a black and white speckled pattern and ends up look like this until I pull the battery:

If you want to use Drew's GingerKernel V5.1, make sure you turn off CM7 screen on/off animations in Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Display, and uncheck both Screen-on and Screen-off animations. Otherwise waking the screen from idle won't work. Do that before flashing Drew's GingerKernel V5.1

According to his instructions for overclocking, use SetCPU. Get it here in this post. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/101386-how-setcpu-profiles.html

You will notice that GPS locks on fast, transitions and menus flow smoother. I'm still testing other part of CM7 with it. Camera app doesn't like it.

Any thought about installing dark tremor into your rom? Just an idea!

@Kraven...wiped out all data, ran debug.zip (since I was getting some occasional FCs), and reflashed. I also made sure usb debugging was off. I am still unable to access usb storage. I'm running out of ideas here :(

Since I can't access the sd I've been having to download all .zips directly onto the sd from my optimus's browser...pretty obnoxious.

Here are a few suggestions i found:

*Try the new Optimus S drivers for gingerbread phones.
edit looking for the drivers for you. http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/drivers/LGLS670.zip

*"I'm also having the same issue with connecting my phone USB mass storage. What I did as a work around was to turn on debugging then reboot the phone. Then when I plug into the PC is usually doesn't work the first time so I have to un-plug the device then back in again and then it works."

*How is your SDcard formatted?, it may not be readable in windows.

*Try one of Drew's Xionia Redux kernels , or GingerKernel V5.1. Very important that CyanogenMod screen on and off animations are off.

*Try another USB micro cable

I'm still looking at CM7 bugs on that also.

And another solution to try. After this suggestion. You need to flash a kernel afterwards. Just flash the Rom zip over it or flash the IHO-BobZhome-3.1 Kernel zip next.

*"just lil update, when people have issues with usb mounting, it's almost 100% of the time caused by them not wiping the boot partition. the kernel was changed to fix the usb mounting issue. so the boot partition must be wiped."

* Another way to get access to your SDcard is in Recovery. Choose "mounts" , then "mount Sdcard". And see if it is accessible via the computer. Not a solution, but an option. This will tell us if it is the Computer, CM7, or USB cord.

Thanks for doing some research for me! I will try these methods when I am free later tonight but I did mount the Sdcard prior to posting and had no luck.

Sounds like a bad usb cord. Ask someone to test or borrow their micro usb cord. It could be LG driver issue. Uninstall it first, then install the latest one.

Re: [ROM][WIP] CM7 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 9-29-2011

Is anyone having issues with not being able to download pictures sent in MMS messages?

I can send SMS & MMS messages with pics

I can receive SMS just fine and I can receive the MMS alert with the 'download' button.

But for some reason, when I click download, it just thinks and can't receive the image.

Not really an issue for me as I can always check pictures.sprintpcs.com to check the pic out.

Just wondering if its just me.
