i have 2 things that may not be rom related, the first i will record video and there is no sound, it is just mute. but i can reboot the phone and it will record with sound. after an unknow ammount of time it will eventually do the same thing again.

the second thing is i cant share video through messaging, i have it set to mms quality and tried with a 1 sec video yet it always says sorry cannot add your video to this message.

the sound thing has been happening for at least 4 or 5 months only on cm7, the mms thing not sure because i never tried to share a video till now.

like every dev these days ,they rely on logcats,if you have logcat installed try the same procedures then get the logcat file and post it to the developers attention,then it can be known if it is every optimus s or just certain models

Just thought i would report back regarding the slow screen rotations and whatnot.

It appears to be a little faster on the 3-7 build vs. the 3-9, but I definitely can't prove that...
Also, I think turning off all animations gives a big improvement. So i'm doing better over here.

You can use whatever ROM you want as long as the radio build matches...I would do some reading through the forums you'll find a lot of information.

I thought only the Optimus before 2.2.3. could be used but maybe some one could tell which rom would be the best to try thanks..

Use reborn for an optimized 2.2 froyo based rom or thekravens cm7 2.3 gingerbread. Either are the most stable out there right now.

Is it true that after the 12/22 release that data2ext does not work anymore?

I am currently on the 12/22 release with the data2ext mod (I can't live without it).
Anyways my phone is acting up and keeps freezing A LOT. This is very unusual so I think its because I'm in need of an upgrade or maybe its the data2ext mod, I dont know but either way I would really like to upgrade because its been a while. But back to the question does data2ext work with the most recent CM7 release?
Also, has the handset mic with headphones been fixed?

Data2ext works great for me on latest build same Data2ext as I have allways used.

Settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks. Make sure to atleast check national roaming. I also check international roaming as there is no chance of me actually getting it.

i just noticed that my optimus s reboots while i try to use usb storage mode ,just wondering if any one else has had this happening at all,it wont go to usb storage mode it just reboots my phone

Use the newest posted one in the OP. Playpen will update when you sign on to it, at least it has for me multiple times on CM7 tests and CM9 tests.

i keep getting a error

E:Error in CACHE:recovery/log
(no space left on device)

i dont want to prepare to flash the rom then get stuck not being able to flash the rom or nandroid if i already cleared the other stuff.
