[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

just flashed the 3-9 build but for some reason when I try to enable the battery percentage icon (Cyanogen setting->interface->status bar tweaks). The percentage is hidden. Any way to get the percentage back?

Build 3/7 is a better choice. The 3/9 has some screen issues in rotation.

Couple of things. 3-7 build.

First -- I'm pretty sure Wifi keeps turning on by itself. I'll turn it off from the notification power panel, but then it turns back on. Then i'll turn it off from the power widget, and it'll turn back on. Even after turning it off from the settings menu, it still turned back on shortly after. I suppose I could just be losing my mind and accidentally touching the wifi toggle, but i'm pretty sure......never mind.

Second -- I'm not sure if this is directly related to the ROM, but when I use Google Play on my computer, it no longer sees that i have any devices registered with my account (I only had one before--my LS670). So I can't remote install apps from a PC web browser.

EDIT: I'm also getting "Error processing purchase" when trying to download from the Play store.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

hey, im a newbie...first time ive ever done this...however i already had rooted my phone,so i installed xionia recovery menu...and then installed Latest cyanogen sync, now 7.2 rc1
3-7d...all on first try..you guys explain everything perfectly...however i am having one issue..sometimes when i go to use a app or hit home button it will jump on the internet and go to google...and freeze for a sec..not a major issue but kinda annoying, lol oh and im using regina launcher but cant seem to get it to stay as my default launcher after a reboot...other then that it works perfect and my hats off to you and everyone who has worked on it...i never thought my optims s could run so fast and smooth...its guys like yo that make huys like me appreciative...cause we cant afford a higher end phone...keeep up the good work...oh and i also put in the bug fix zip when i flashed cm7

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

i keep getting a error

E:Error in CACHE:recovery/log
(no space left on device)

i dont want to prepare to flash the rom then get stuck not being able to flash the rom or nandroid if i already cleared the other stuff.

Try the other build without the market fix, Those require a full wipe of data, boot, system, cache, and dalvik cache.

Did you change the color of the clock? It won't reflect the changes to the other text items till a reboot.

really need help ): Can't download anything from the market. I tried clearing the data from the Google Play app, no avail. Device won't show up in my google play account.

EDIT: Got it. Seems to be an issue with Google Play. I uninstalled updates to the Google Play app, which allowed me to download.... BUT device still does not show up in play account, so still can't download apps remotely

Getting the same two issues of the device not showing in the PlayPen ;) and "error" in purchase with the ICS / CM9 ROM (A6), but not in CM7 (3-7c). I download in CM7, saved in TiBu and then restore CM9 and restore from TiBu. Hassle, I know...... I have the 3.4.7 version of PlayPen in CM7 and 3.5.15 in CM9, (for what that is worth, if anything.)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

I installed the newest bare bones version the other day - now I am getting a repeating rebooting...The phone will reboot, some random time later it will do it again (as soon as 1 min after restarting and as long as a few hours). No combination of apps/use seems to effect this...SetCPU is not installed and I have the overclock set to 'On Demand' max of ~742000 (whatever is closest to that). Using the newest GPS fix, should I try a different one?

Any recommendations? Im about to try the 3-7 build of the full version with one of the older GPS fixes.

Definitely try the 3/7 build, you should not need any hotfixes. Try clocking your cpu at 600 max / 245 min with ondemand and see if that stabilizes it.

I installed the 3-7 build this morning with the newest Gapps (with old market). Still had a reboot.

After some testing, I believe the GPS is causing the reboots...I had navigation running and within 10 min, reboot. I disabled the GPS and its been about 6 hours so far no problems. I need to experiment with the GPS hotfixes.

I have yet to have any issues with this ROM, other then the known issue with no audio recorded in the video. GPS works great, and its fast and accurate.

Does the phone work with the ear buds in? (i.e. you can be heard via the mic and you can hear the other person through the buds?)

I haven't ran IHO CM7 since the ZVH update but before than I was running it pretty consistently and my earbuds worked fine (incidentally I need a new pair of earbuds lol), being that this is based off of IHO you should be good.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

Just installed the full 3-7-2012 build and latest google apps with VVM, and all works great. I had the CM7.1 build previously and it got to a point where the phone just wouldn't boot anymore.. so I flashed the updated rom using the instructions and now I can even use my Beats headset control to start and stop playing music, but no volume control.

I am really looking for headset rocker functionality to adjust the volume, and well as the mic function. This would be a game changer for me if we could focus some efforts there next. I have been waiting for over a year for this functionality.. but it is obviously perplexing for many developers so keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Ranger

My research is not promising on getting headset volume control in CM or any Android. It seems to be a hardware issue that no one except Apple does. There is a free app named Jay's Headset Control https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ails?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol&token=buzpr1ym that works great. I also use GoneMad Music Player that supports single button controls directly, if you do not have a favorite music player.

I have some SkullCandy 50/50 Mic'd that work great on phone calls and music either with Jays Headset Control and the Android Player (I use this in the CM9 alpha) or GMMP in CM7.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

Being new to CM, what's the deal with rebooting the phone for settings to take? The Engineer in me is saying that's kind of dumb. But anyway, on to the real question. (I haven't posted on here in months)

Yesterday the phone app threw force close after force close on me ultimately forcing me to revert back to my RebornROM Nandroid. After getting the phone all happy again, I flashed 3-7d back on the phone. For some odd reason, when I put the phone into vibrate mode in the notification widget, it doesn't want to vibrate.

This was working prior to reverting ROMs and then re-installing.

My method of reverting back to Reborn was to wipe cache, wipe dalvik, format boot, system, data, cache, flash the debug format.zip file, restore the nandroid, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, reboot.

Upon going back to CM7.2, I did the following: wipe cache, wipe dalvik, format boot, system, data, cache, flash the debug format.zip file, flash CM7.2, flash gapps, reboot.

I compared the settings on my wifes Optimus' install of CM7.2 and they are identical. Why won't changing to vibrate work on my phone? I've tried changing settings, rebooting the phone, hoping they would take. Is it something to do with permissions maybe and I need to go into recovery and fix them?

The frameworks need to be restarted to see changes. Its always been like that for theming. Like flashing uot kitchen zips. There's notification restart in the market that does a softboot.

You can type in terminal... fix_permissions and see if it fixes the vibrations. It's in the ramdisk. You might try full wiping, flash the rom, reboot to recovery, flash the rom again, flash gapps, then reboot.
