[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

I keep getting a DSP Manager has stopped working error when I call out. it doesn't affect the call going out but I click ok and the call works. anyone know what that is?

While in that sprint rom, you need to update profiles and update prl. Make sure thunderrom is for zvd. I remember it was for zvc. But I could be wrong. If data doesn't work still, you need your msl, then dial ##72786##, this will get data and GPS.
Edit..meant msl
How does one get their MSL number? I did a getprop and can't find it in there?

Call customer service. It is only available from them, it is not stored in the phone. Some will give it to you willingly, some have no clue what you are asking for, just keep trying. And no, it does not say you are hacking your phone, just that you are more knowledgeable than the average customer. The smart CS rep will realize that you save them a load of time by doing it yourself. :)

Lately some things have been kind of slow....i don't know if it happened as a result of a new build or what....but i often notice that it takes a very long time for the screen to rotate.....for example it just took five seconds to go from portrait to landscape while on the homescreen....

My phone actually locked up last night while rotating, and it took several seconds to rotate as well. Also froze on unlock last night. Never had that happen. Battery pull needed both times. I was running the latest barebones build. No overclocking or anything out of the norm.

I'm seeing something in rotations, sometimes slow, sometimes not. I've been trying to pin it down to something I can repeat. Sometimes when I am using an app in a store, shopping list for example, it will rotate quickly and then take a long time to come back. I have a widget that lets me stop screen rotations that I end up using.

So I looked at the fixes from the recent builds, thekraven posted on the 3/9 build that it was fixes for files missed in 3/7. I found this, must be what is going on (?), post #2123 http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...ekraven-2-7-2012-zvd-only-54.html#post1642880.

I imagine the kraven is ultra busy with cm7, cm9 and REAL life as well. So please, don't interpret my post as complaints....but it does seem that the screen rotation has some issues. It seems to progress after each reboot for me.

So are you suggesting we should flashback to 3-7c or 3-7d?

EDIT: I just flashed back to 3-7, and rotation seems to be much snappier....very interesting...
Also, @thekraven, i may be insane but i think plus code dialing was working on 3-9??

no, but you can if you want. It may not be helpful for testing but maybe it is. (?)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

So if I was to do a fresh wipe, what's the best version? 3-7? 3-9? I read thru the last few pages, and I'm kinda lost as to which version to flash.

I'm still on RC0 currently.. Did a dirty flash, and I am thinking a fresh wipe is in order. Wanted to get to the newest/best stuff! I found a 3-9 a&b, a was uploaded the latest - so I'm downloading it. Also, any other mirrors other than this goo-inside-me? It's very slow.

Edit - 3-9 b has the goo-inside me app in it for OTA updates, but isn't ready - 3-9 a does not have this app..?

For the speed issue, perhaps their site is just overloaded and throttles connections like crazy to prevent an outage/overage.... Would be nice to at least have a mirror for 'stable' versions perhaps? I don't know when the last one of those was released... It would appear a while ago - November?

Thanks for all your work, I do prefer the ZVD ROM's, this one has always been the best in terms of features and stability!

Cm7 added fingerprint scanner unlock for the atrix, and that was giving the V users problems. So 3-7d might be the best for now, otherwise turn off animation and see if it helps
Some builds are test builds, so I'll only link the latest one. The goo-me app keeps getting updated, just grab from the market

Anyone else having trouble with performance settings not sticking after reboot? I'm on 3-7d Btw

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

lol.... I've had that problem for quite a while. And not just performance settings... Try changing themes using the theme changer. Mine revert back to the system theme on reboot.

To get around the performance setting issue, I backed up all my apps in TitsBU and then uninstalled all of the user apps. Then set one setting and rebooted. Then as soon as the phone came back, I would set another setting and rebooted. And on and on. I had an 80% success rate that way, but it took me about 4hrs to set my phone up. Then I restored my apps thru TitsBU.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

Why has this not been brought up? Could you suppose it's due to the additional extras that we get with this rom vs. CM7 ie: Center Clock, Color options in status bar and others?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

It's always brought up. Not to restore system settings with tibu. Ideally it's only good if you backup and restore on the same OS build. Throw in a new build and stuff gets fubared.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 2/7/2012 zvd only

There's a misunderstanding here. I never back up system settings or system apps. I tried doing a complete and totally fresh install. This means that I revert to stock zvd via double flashing the update.zip, running optiauto-sfx.exe to root and install xionia recovery, moving everything off of the sdcard and formatting everything, then moving my wallpapers, download, TitaniumBackup and clockworkmod folders back onto the sdcard, along with rom and gapps. Then I'll spend the next four hours trying to get my settings right. Then I'll TitsBU restore my apps (w/ data).

That's as close to a fresh install as I can get. I've done cursory searches for wiping the phone completely and starting over, but I can't find anything that tells me how and adb won't let me format (command not found) from recovery, so I just plod along and wait for the next update and hope it works on that one.
