Thank You.
Still don't know why I couldn't see the devs posts, but they're back now

Perhaps someone could help me with this problem. It feels a bit nubbish, but here's a go:
My sprint LS670 appears to not like CM7. Any time I flash a rom that's based on CM7, I start to load the Rom and freeze at the boot animation. I'm not presented with a log or error, but it freezes (the animation stops, and I've waited 30 min for any movement. Nada)
I get a little sad to think of it, because I LOVE me some CM9 and 10 (thanks, BobZ!), but I've never gotten a CM7 rom to load on my phone. I was wondering if a)anyone else has had this problem and b) if anyone has found some kind of work around or way to pull an error from the phone that might explain the freeze. Thanks!
Earlier today I flashed and booted to CyanogenMod 7.2. Because I was previously on HydroROM, I had upgraded my baseband to ZVJ, so in order for CM7.2 to work, I had to apply the ZVD to ZVJ patch (thanks, nightstalkr!).
I'm still in the process of restoring my applications from Titanium Backup, including the process of deciding which of those apps I still really need, but so far most things seem to work fine, with one important exception: I can't change my location setting. Previously in Settings, I could go to "Location and Privacy", where the first option on the menu was "Location Privacy" (or something like that), and then under "Location Privacy" there were the two choices "E911 Only" or "Location On". The Location On setting communicates your location to the navigation service, which needs that information to furnish turn-by-turn directions in real time. In the other setting, E911 Only, the GPS receiver can tell you where you are right now, and calculate a list of directions that you can read, but it can't navigate in real time. My device is now working as if it is in the E911 Only setting, and I can't find any option that will allow me to toggle it to the other setting.
Is there another place I need to look? Maybe a dialing code?
Until several months ago I had CM7 and I'm pretty sure I was able to do this then.
(Note to moderators: I wasn't sure where would be the best place to ask this question so I put it in the CM7.2 thread. I gave it a descriptive title so you can easily split this post into a thread of its own if you judge that approach to be more appropriate.)
try reverting to the 2-7 build. i recall having gps issues with the 3-9 build, but never had issues with 2-7.
If you mean the one on 2-9-2012, I did use that one. However, I didn't flash the boot image; could that have something to do with it? Having flashed the patch, can I still flash the boot image, or do I have to wipe/clear everything again and start over?
there is no 2-9-2012 build. just 2-7-2012, 3-7-2012, and 3-9-2012.
the boot image should only be necessary if you use the 2-7 build, and even so it shouldn't have anything to do with the gps.
if you're on 2-7-2012 and the gps isn't working for you, then i dunno. wipe everything and try again? or play around with the gps patches on the first page?
I simply went back to HydroROM, thereby getting a hands-on, up close and personal demonstration of how incredibly useful Nandroid backups are! I could have gone through the GPS fixes to try to make this work in CM7, but that would have taken more time than I wanted to spend here.I did mean 2-7; I must be spending too much time at the computer.
As for wiping everything it's probably not worth the trouble. The network's usually not fast enough to use when driving, and if I'm walking I can read directions or look at the map.
I am currently setting it up using the ZVD to ZVD patch and it's worked fine.Which recovery? There was no apps to sd-ex built in. This one is pretty much zvd only. Idk if anyone tested it with the zvj patches.
Everyone keeps referring to "The kravens?cm7" rom and when I search that name nothing comes back. Is this rom the rom they are referring to? I want to make sure before I install. Also I rooted and running Danno rom and zvj. Will the zvd downgrade work to install this?
Yes, this is TheKraven's CM7 build. If you're running ZVJ, you'll have to use the ZVJ to ZVD patch to receive signal. It may also cause other bugs, since it's not tested.
