[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

cm7 settings are not sticking in 12/8 build. I can't get my themes to stick, I can't reorder my notification widget, I can't turn on purge assets, anything like that. I can't change my keyboard or set my phone to allow installs. That aren't from the market

Same issues here. After a reboot, theme switches back to default system theme, cant change the keyboard. Haven't observed other things yet though.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

I think the only way for that is to load the 11115.prl via QPST. It allows verizon towers
Greetings. First time Poster. I have searched this forum Repeatedly for this PRL and instructions on installation and I cannot find anything. I am a bit of a noob so maybe this is common knowledge and I am expected to know this stuff already, but alas I do not. more details on this would be GREATLY appreciated. My workplace has HORRIBLE reception and its KILLING my bat. I could just force roam when I Had my HERO but When I do it on this phone, it keeps pullin back to sprint. Also, will this issue be resolved in future versions of CM port for Optimus S?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

I just want to verify a spot of confusion in these directions.

From step 6-7:
At the end of step 6 it says "Now flash..."
Step 7 says to navigate to "Install from SD"

Is flash synonymous with install? Or, is there somewhere I should flash the zip and then go back and install from SD?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

Hi New Pollution. If I understand the directions right, that zip file is just an automated way to make sure u wipe all old data. so u wipe all the directories in the instructions manually then go to flash from sd. choose the Debug-FormatSYSTEM.zip from your sd card and flash that. Then U pick the rom zip and flash that. hope that helped.

You have to go back to a sprint based rom to update prl and profile. Just make a nand before you do. Dont worry, prl and profile stick thru a nand restore.

This should fix any MMS problems. The apns-conf.xml was the culprit.

Flash this in recovery.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

No comments on the settings not sticking?

Edit:
of course, after i beg for a response from kraven, i notice all my settings are sticking now.
All i did, was turn it off and take out the sd card to transfer some files to my computer.
When i reinserted and powered back on, my chosen theme stuck as do my cm7 settings...
Wierd?

I am running the 12/8 barebones, with the minimal magic theme from the market. I am having 2 minor issues. First my data will occasionally stop working (i think it is always when at a location with extremely poor service), and will not reconnect without a reboot. Second of the power notification icons i use, the brightness setting, when pressed to change brightness does not "fill in with color" to denote which setting you have choosen. It has always gone from transparent to solid to mirror actual brightness settings but is not working on this build. When updating from the 11/20 build, i simply did a cache wipe and flashed the barebones zip.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

12-12-11 build is up now. Lots of fixes from 12/8. A few new features added.

READ READ READ. About the clock color, it is defaulted to black. You will need to go into settings>Cyanogenmod Settings>Interface>Statusbar tweaks> Choose clock color to pick whatever you like. Then click in the center of the circle to confirm the color. Then it will show.
  • Locking gesture is fixed. Draw images on screen to unlock.
  • MMS fixed. Corrected the apn-conf.xml file.
  • Lock ring revamped theme added
  • Added JerryScript Center Clock mod. It's built in now and has color options and options to move back to the right side. Thanks JerryScript for this mod.
  • Transparency is built in for transparency supported themes.
  • Boot animation chooser working
  • Video cam working again.
  • Focus sound muting working
  • 3.4 IHO Kernel by BobZhome. Has some bluetooth fixes.
  • ICS font on the clock lockscreen
  • Known issues in this 12.12 buld
  • First time booting, the clock will be black, change in settings. Read the above.
  • Theme chooser changes needs either a notification received (text yourself), toggle the USB mass storage off/on, or a reboot to get the full effects of the theme. This is due to a background image in the new clock mod.
I installed this over the 12/8 build with just a cache wipe. And also installed with a clean wipe. Both worked fine.

I never could repeat the unsave settings with 12/8 and this build. Make sure you do your changes after you sign in with a google account.

The save thing was certainly odd, once it was gone I couldn't figure out what I did to fix it. It might just have been some odd lag thing between google and the phone.

So far running very smooth and very fast and stable! Love the new center clock mod:) thanks kraven and whoever else is involved in the making of the rom!

Thanx hlxanthus, I really appreciate the answer, but I should've been more specific in my post. A poster mentioned that he couldn't force Roam in this build. He said that that even when he clicked the setting it kept wandering off to sprint. TheKraven responded

My problem was that I cannot find how to do this. I too need to force roam while at work otherwise battery dies and i dont get calls. I was also curious if this nonoperational forced roam would be fixed in future builds. Thanks again.

Check the bottom of the first post. There is a note on prl updates manually. The hardest part is getting your msl from sprint or cdma workshop. Then loading the xionia redux kernel so you can make qpst read your phone. And do the manual update. You do manual prl updates if you want the roaming prl, note it's a business prl

Some find it easier to flash back to reborn rom or sprint rom and do the auto prl update. Just Nandroid back and forth.

I guess what I am asking, rather, what I "was" confused by, is if the words "flash" and "install" are synonymous. The reason I ask is that inside of xionia cw I see no selections that suggest a flashing function built in. Therefore, I do not know if flashing is a separate function of installing a zip file.

On a side note :) :) :) I completed the cr install successfully :) :) :)

! :) ! Congrats to me ! :) !
:) And a *BIG* *BIG* Thanks!!!! To all the Devs and testers that made this possible :)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-12-2011

Thanks SO much theKraven. I appreciate it. I was able to update the PRL and hopefully this will take care of my issues at work. out of curiosity, why doesnt force roam work on the optimus? my last phone (Hero) was able to force roam on CM7 no problem. Not complaining just curious as to why and if there might be a resolution in the future. Thanks again for your help.

Oh, u mentioned to note that this was a business PRL, Is that a problem?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-12-2011

It was more of a disclaimer, so use at your own risk. Just noted that is where 11115 PRL originates from and idk if you are a business account. If you did the auto update PRL you would get the latest business PRL.

Try affiliated roaming under system select. I think the only other way would be the paid Roaming App on the Market.

As for the Hero capabilities, I'll have a look. More than likely it's the available source code difference between the phones. Is it a Sprint CDMA version?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-12-2011

Did you reflash the Gapps too?

And what theme are you running?

The affiliated roaming option is what I've been trying on the optimus (its also the option I used on the HEro). The 11115 PRL seems to help a little. It goes to ROAM quicker and stays longer but it still bounces back to sprint towers very often which = horrible battery life and many missed calls.

Yes it is a sprint CDMA Hero. THANKS SO much for checking into this. U ROCK!
