[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-23-2011

Go into batch on titanium and scroll down to another launcher. Hard press the app and you will see convert to system. Then tap adw and you will see freeze app.

So I wiped everything following the steps on the 1st page and reinstalled the 10.23 ROM but the brightness button is still showing auto??? No matter how many times I hit it it just doesn't change into anything else. I don't have auto selected in the Cyanogen Mod settings. Any idea how to fix it?

I had a similar issue with the sound widget.
Wouldn't change at all. Selecting sound in cm7 widget order settings showed vibrate, vibrate showed silent, etc.
After switching back and fourth,a lot, it just seemed to fix itself...

On some of the themes with hdpi graphics for the notification bar they tend to disappear. If you go back to the system one or androidian, the icon comes back.

There is an app called notification restart. You can see if it revives it. It's good when the notification bar doesn't change with a theme change. [APP] Notification Restart - Reload Your Notification Bar [CM7 - themechooser] - xda-developers

But i'll look at removing the auto feature. I do see an update that presets the brightness and sound levels. So that may work in the next update.

I changed to the system theme and others that came with CM7 but nothing changed. I don't know if it's stored in the settings of my gmail account or something. But even reinstalling the ROM didn't help:confused:

I don't think it's a graphic error...
The error was in cm7 notification settings.
where you tell it what to switch between when you hit the widget. It wouldn't be the ones you selected once you were done selecting them.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-23-2011

Yeah. It was showing normally at first but once auto was selected it stopped changing and stuck at the auto icon.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-23-2011

I'm fixing it in the next build. It resides in the framework, systemui and cmparts.apk. i see once you select auto, it looks for a light sensor. There's a good chance it can be patched without a full install. But a new build is in the works.

That's good news. Thanks so much! BTW, how can I fix the problem that in the MIUI theme and other themes there are no check boxes and buttons like the submit reply button in this forum are not visible?
The Orion theme doesn't have this issue but it's missing an icon in the notification power widget. The Meizu theme has the same check box issue and the alarm background looks broken. I love all 3 of them but they all have minor issues. I don't know how to theme yet but I'll go check the threads in the xda forum.

Wondering why my phone dies while its idle/sleep overnight... I've looked for anything keeping the phone awake but there's nothing... I've always had good luck with Roms where with the phone sleep the battery is like frozen it goes down MAYBE 1% every hour but thats not the case here... My battery barely last 5 hours: Ondemand 768/245 The most it's lasted was about 6-8 hours... Horrible

Sounds like something is preventing your phone from sleeping. Battery history may help you determine which app is not closing. I installed SpareParts thinking it would give me more info, but it doesn't give very much. I think I read that Gingerbread does have all the battery stats like froyo, but i'm not sure. There is also a paid app called Better Battery Stats that claims to show much more detailed information about apps and battery use. I think your problem can be solved by figuring out which app/service is preventing your phone from sleeping.

Maybe that helps some, hope you get it figured out

Cell Standby is at 43% Time without a signal says 11%. Where I am now I don't get good service maybe 1-2 bars sometimes 0 but still doesn't explain poor battery life compared to other roms.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-23-2011

I never seen it drain that bad. What apps do you have? CHeck Spareparts/battery history/ then select partial wake usage. Post some screenshots and see if we can figure it out. Like the small and big battery use graphs. And your partial wake usage graphs.

Have you reset your battery stats? Do that after you fully charge and it says 'discharging" at Settings/about phone/status/battery status. Then boot to recovery and wipe battery stats.

Twitter and Facebook are usually the culprits. Adjust your Facebook sync and refresh schedules. Turn off GPS when you don't use it. Groove IP and AIM keep high wakelocks. Adjust emall frequency checks. Update to the latest 5.11 Google Maps. The last 5.10 one ate up battery.

Added a few GPS fixes in the HOTFIX area of the first post. Latest LG AGPS patch by crypted. It is only needed if you are having trouble getting a fast gps lock. Check it out along with GPS test from the market.

Just an update, It will be few days for a new IHO/CM7 nightly. Testing a few things on the notification bar.

Re: [ROM] CM7.1 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 10-23-2011

I was having problems with the Notification power widget until this release. All the reports that are coming in about screen brightness, orientation and sound not working were happinging to me since the 10/6 release. and the changes were also not taking hold in the settings areas for display and sound. would have to reboot bout only worked half the time and would come back 1 min to 2 hours later.

however with the 10/23 release, it uses checkboxes for each option (sound, vibe, auto,10% ,50% etc) instead of preselected options (sound&vibe, silentsound&vibe, or auto10,30,100). i did a clean install and went to CM7 setting and reset all the notification power widget buttons and theyre settings. no problems since.

There is a problem with CM7 that shows lower bars than the LG based ROMs. You're probably getting the same signal, but it just looks like they're lower. So don't worry about it.
