I need some help. I am loving this rom, I am just very confused about what I need to do to get the GPS working. I have flash the agps.patch.lg.build.v3.1.zip and I still am unable to get a signal. I installed the GPS Status and Toolbox and I can never get a GPS lock. I'm confused about which other zip files i should be installing from the list on the first page.
Any help would be much appreciated, I tend to rely on my GPS Navigation quite often and I haven't been able to get it to work since flashing this rom.

Problem with USB storage again... Last time I completely uninstalled the driver and downloaded the latest driver from LG and it fixed everything. This time my phone was recognized except when I double click it it says "please insert a disk into removable disk". Driver won't install completely no matter what, the "lge android usb modem" always says "failed". I could only get the drivers installed after reverting to stock rom. And I had to turn off debug mode to get it to actually show up in my computer so that I can copy files to my phone. Any idea why? I didn't have any problems before

@thekraven thanks again for all the great work I love your cm 7.2 roms, and love the Offline charging, can you please make the off line charging standard in the new final builds.. For people who do not want offline charging, then can just leave there phone on and charge. I hated having to have the phone on 24 hours a day and leaving it on at night on silent to charge, instead of having it off and charing.

I am also wondering about the USB mass storage mode on the latest builds. I am still running the 11/6/2011 build (yes I know it is 2 months old now, but it works). On this build, I almost always need to install a driver on Windows in order for the phone to be detected as an external USB mass storage device. No drivers were needed with the stock firmware or the ThundeROM firmware. Ubuntu 11.10 detects the phone as a mass storage device just fine with either firmware.
It would be awesome if there were a way to force the phone into USB mass storage device mode while running the CM7 firmware, because Windows does have built-in drivers for USB mass storage devices (like any flash drive). I wonder if there is a way to change how the phone presents itself to Windows when it is initially connected? (i.e. if it presents itself as multiple devices, can it present the USB mass storage device first, or only?)
The 11/6/2011 build has otherwise been good to me other than the known issue with headphones + internal mic which I hear may get also fixed soon, and hopefully integrated.
BTW, another note, one of the tips in the CM7 "Home screen tips" app mentions nightly builds being available on ROM Manager, yet ROM Manager is not Optimus S compatible...

I'm running the 12-22 build and I never needed USB drivers. Never had any issue with PC recognizing my SD card. You might think I might have installed it before but its a work laptop and I know I never installed it. I did on my PC though, and so I use it whenever I need adb shell and to run my phone in debugging mode.

I rooted my optimus about 8 months ago and stopped there. I decided i was ready to try a new rom and am looking at this cm7 port. I have one probably silly newb question before I try this. the last step is set up your phone. what does this really mean? Will i need to reactivate or program it again with my number?

No. That just means you will need to log in to your Google account and set up your apps, contacts and whatever else you need to set up.

Speaking of this build, I just tried to flash it and got a signature verification failed.
It says: Wrong digest: system/usr/keylayout/thunder_keypad.kl
Maybe a bad download of the ROM? I'll download it again and give it another shot.

The whole point of signature verification is for it to be turned on....simply turning off signature verification and flashing could cause potential problems with the ROM if there's something wrong with the build.

thekraven just needs to fix the signature before release, and knows that. I had the same error flashing the ROM as you, toggle off verification in recovery and flash. I know I got the copy directly from the dev, no worries. Sometimes they get busy with all the tweaking and testing.

After you flash the rom and flash gapps all you have to do is run the setup just as if you first turned on the phone.
