[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-22-2011 zvd on

Yes, offline charging patch over the 12/22 build working just great here.

12/22 + this patch is one very nice, smooth, and stable build!

Great work once again thekraven! And BobZHome does some awesome kernel work!

Thank you for a great ROM. However, after flashing the 12-22 build, my Optimus S seems to be doing some strange haptic feedback stuff. Sometimes i'll get a single text, and then another single text, and the phone will vibrate perhaps 4 times. Also, during a call, the phone will vibrate every time the screen goes from on to standby or from standby to on. It didn't do this before.

Also, today i've noticed that the phone is behaving strangely in regards to calls. I have placed a few calls today by punching in numbers into the dialer or selecting a contact, but then for some reason the phone decided to call someone else entirely. Also, I hung up once, only to then see that my phone placed a call to someone else immediately after. I was not touching the phone at the time.

Just wondering if you have any idea why this might be!

Thanks

I get this too...I think it started around the 11-20 build. It vibrates twice whenever the proximity sensor state changes. Can be a bit annoying, but not really a big deal. I've looked in all the settings that are for vibrations and haptic feedback, but haven't found one that makes a difference with this.

Did I miss a setting somewhere?

Did you open the dialer and then hit menu? There are some haptic feedback setting in there too, as well as the regular settings , sound menu. Also check the settings, cyanogen mod, input menu.

Wow the new kernel is blazing. My battery charges extremely fast and discharges extremely slow also. Agreed great build.....

Agreed! After a couple days now on 12/22 build with the new offline charging / BobZHome kernel is spectacular in the responsiveness to touch screen and apps, plus the battery life improved significantly. Juice Defender tells me I have increased battery 2.12 times, compared to 1.78 on the stock 12/22 build.

I've dropped the min idle from 320 to 245 with smartassv2 governor and it still wakes faster and flies. Sometimes it would take 4-5 rings for the dialer answer dialog to come up before, now it is 1 or 2 rings, even after a few hours of idle. Sweetness!

the picture I was refering to is this.

In the camera, menu button for advanced options, check "pre-focus".

I've learned that there a many options in the CM7 ROM with the menu button, in many apps. Try it in all the apps!

After updating to the mini update I noticed that my wifi died. It connects fine but when I try to access the internet, there's no connection. I restored my last setup and everything is fine.

Is there a separate zip for the updated kernel?

I got like 7 days and 7 hours of a charge with the 12/22 build (albeit, the phone isn't being used)

With that mini update I lost my phone connection. Not just phone data but I had no wireless phone service at all. I don't think that it was reception since I had two bars before installing the zip file and I had two bars again after restoring my nandroid backup all without leaving the computer desk in my apartment.

I'm too tired to try playing with it right now but this is probably something that should be checked out if it's not just a user-error issue.

i'll look at it. Which update? just the Bootimage one or the full 1/10 Rom zip?

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I have been running the 12-22-barebones and then dirty flashed the bootimage / kernel update posted yesterday. All communication, wifi, data, radio, is fine. This runs fast, smooth, and stable for me. The 12-22 was a full flash with all wipes, restore apps with TiBackup, and all ROM setting redone by hand.

It does have a new wifi module built with the new kernel. If not doing a clean install, you might try forgetting the wifi network, then let it connect again.

Just the bootimage update. I didn't notice that the 1/10 was up since the thread title hasn't changed. I'll try that and get back to you.

I too just flashed the kernel zip and can report all is well. Running the 12-22 build as well. Superb job all around. Donation coming when my paycheck arrives :D

Can i dirty flash this new kernal or do i need to wipe and reinstall.

You should be able to flash it over your current cm7. Wipe cache only.

Will the Debug-System format zip work for other roms like reborn, srom, and shell

looks great, definitely a favorite of mine with an ICS theme. only one problem, wifi, it was working fine before i flashed this rom, but since ive booted with it the wifi comes up with an error screen. where it usually says turn wifi on/off, it just says error. any ideas? i did some research and it said it might be a memory things, but i have 99 mb of internal storage free. Any help would be much appreciated!
