so, what is actually needed for Bluetooth calls to work?? I see that it is working in a few ics builds for different phones. but for the majority, its not?
so what are we missing??

I see that the p500 rom claims to have BT working; I'm not sure of the hardware differences in p500/optimus S, but it may be worth a try to swap a current builds modules and try? (theKraven mentioned he would try to swap CM7 BT modules in to see if that worked, but I haven't seen anything since...)

I may try that this weekend.

They just have bluetooth music streaming working like us. We use the same audio sources.

im curious I know we dont have front camera but will we be able to use the facial recognition security features of ICS?

No. Face Unlock REQUIRES a front facing camera. Also it barely works on the Nexus S (FFC quality sucks).

Sitting out until tomorrow, my screen is dying on me. When I press on an icon, nothing happens, or the phone freezes and does something completely unexplained. Almost was unable to unlock it and flash back to stock froyo.!!! Thus no insurance claim. But got er done and all is well, receiving my new optimus tomorrow. Will test when possible.

Interesting to note though, that I was able to get garbled audio in/out using a Jabra BT8010 headset when my phone was the call terminator- There was no audio whatsoever though, when I was the originator. Logs look like it enables the bluetooth:

Followed be aforementioned garbled audio at a rather low volume.

EDIT: State 12 is "STATE_AUDIO_CONNECTED"

This was the first BT audio device I've had ANY success with, fwiw.

I've always heard something from mine, its just sounded rough. I have a jawbone icon.
I actually was able to make 1 successful call, just never happened again. I'm not even sure what version I was on, it was about 3 weeks ago...lol

Camcorder fix for a11 does the trick. Still can't play videos in gallery though, have to use mxplayer or similar.also, gmail scrolling problem still pops up sometimes. I thought I was dalvik cache filling up, but the position has plenty of free space. I have no idea.

For Gmail go to settings and force close then open solved it for me.

That's interesting. I've noticed that I do not even get garbled audio from my car unit. I'm assuming that its using the HFP of BT, while the garbled audio from the headsets uses (of course) HSP.

It could be that there is an issue in the encode/decode of the stack (modified BlueZ?) for HFP/HSP which use the CVSDM codec, as A2DP uses the SBC / MPEG family of codecs and is just peachy.

I'll try to see what changes in the stack happened between 2.3/4.0 w/r/t HSP etc

camcorder seems to be recording and saving without force closing. gallery won't play it though. the preview is extremely choppy however camera preview is unchanged.

EDIT: with surface dithering enabled camcorder preview is significantly less choppy however scrolling in browsers is much choppier as mentioned before.

Im thinking about modding my optimus to have a front faceing camera I got a extra mini cam from a netbook im thinking drill a hole and a little glue some solder yeah it disable my back cam but I prob wont do it till I get a laptop if at all but its a thought I dont take picks anyhow...who says you need an evo:q

I kinda like Sense? (and anyway, the opinions of tech websites don't matter, thekraven's and the cyanogenmod team's do)

CM9 standard is vertical. Since most people use their phones in the vertical position it makes sense to use a task switcher that is vertical oriented so you can see more at once. Plus, the vertical doesn't have that terrible "3d" effect.

I've been having data connectivity issues on 11a. After some time of being idle, data just stops working, and fails ping test, even though it says 3g in the status bar. a reboot fixes it temporarily.
