Is anyone else finding this ROM a little bit laggy compared to Kraven's CM7? CM7 seems to open emails faster than CM9. There's a lot of other stuff and I'm not sure if I did something wrong.

You are testing an alpha. Get kraven a logcat of the error and eventually it will be fixed. That is what testing is for, to find errors and eventual fixes.
If you want a fix now, install a stable ROM.

I'm using this zip:

Flash rom and gapps, boot up, then go back and flash this zip.

It's more or less the same type of thing that a few members and I worked on figuring out back with CM7. I had a version I modified that doesn't work with CM9 anymore, but this slimmed down version does the trick. I'd suggest a gig ext partition, zero swap.

Figured I should quickly explain it. It basically creates a link that points the pone to look for the data partition on the ext partition.

worked like a charm on the new a10.. so flippin easy, thanx. and thanx kraven for putting up the latest alpha, finally peaked my interest enough to test this thing... looks super awesome at first glance. dosent seem laggy at all, will post any bugs i may come across... though i guess they will be useless to you since im using data2ext...

Just installed the latest version...it's been a while since I flashed CM9, and wow...I didn't know my phone could ever be this smooth! Amazing job Kraven!

My first impressions with a10:

Fixed my wifi issues from a9. Link2SD seems to work a lot better now, I don't have to Quick Reboot to mount the sd-ext every time I restart the phone now. The barcode scanner is choppy but works, though I'm not having any choppiness issues with the regular camera as some have mentioned. Definitely a daily driver now.

I keep forgetting to mention I'm not sure if its rom or CM9 in general but the notification Widgets specifically screen brightness and screen time out in CM7 displayed what brightness or time out was selected. screen brightness icon does get brighter or dimmer as you select thru it though.

volume keys to move in text work awesome really like the feature.

Messing around with the iPhone 3gs and my optimimus s feels just as smooth only difference was my optimus s running a10b overclocked 806/480 didn't lag lol I think ics was a great android update made even better by the man himself the kraven and also the cyan team and all those who contribute in any way!!!

Yep, full wipe then installed ROM and kernel afterwards. Maybe I just got used to the speediness of CM7 or are they the same speed?

I think the operating systems gingerbread and ics run about the same. ics to me just took a little used to but once I got used to it look at the difference with pinch and zoom in the browser ics is a lot smoother! Yet the gingerbread kernals allowed me to be stable at 825 vs. Ics Max stable is 806. Also should add gingerbread had hardware acceleration where as ics is still without atm.

If you install videocam illusion from the market/play. Video recording works with the camera patch.

Thekraven the camera patch for the video player works for me as well! Great job played well previewed great and all settings works that I noticed! Another one bites the dust lol

Would it be okay to dirty flash Alpha 10 to Alpha 9?

Nandroid up clear cache and dalvic cache at the least it usually works for me but isn't recommended lol give it a shot and if not you have your backup

A10-3..mms works fine for me, data on, full wipe- installed straight up, with 4-49 gapps

Camera is much more snappy now (pun intended). Loads a lot faster and hasn't forced a reboot yet.
