[ROM]GB 2.3.4 gingerbread-evo-deck [1.0][2.3.3 Stable][1.2c][2.3.4 Beta]

I personally do a full wipe before flashing ROMs even if it's just updates to my current ROM.

That's what I usually do, just didn't know if it was necessary or not. I'll just stick with that method then because I've never had an issue flashing after a clean wipe. Thank you. :-)

No problem :)

Some people have been able to flash an update ROM with just wiping Dalvik/cache but I never have so I just do a full wipe.

Sure enough, after flashing to "o" last night, I wake up this morning to "r"... glad I wasn't predicting the Rapture last week... ;)

Lol, very true. Have you flashed it yet and if so have you noticed and bugs?

So I flashed it anyways and I get no 3G (only 1x) and my WiFi router is right next to me and I'm only getting 2 bars. Something is wrong with it. It's great that I get 4G... if I could only get it inside my house, I wouldn't mind not having 3G...

Curious: How are you wiping before flashing the ROM? What recovery are you using?

Cache, dalvik, data, system wipe - using amon RA. I have latest radio updates flashed.

I think I might know the reason. AOSP ROMs show more accurate signal strength then Sense based ROMs. HTC designed Sense to always display that the device was receiving a 3G signal no matter what the actually reception is. Really blew my mind when I was reading this. I suppose the thinking was less complaints on them. Don't know, either way...makes me have a sadface. If you are experiencing a lot of 1x signal, then you should go have a look at the new Sprint coverage map. Just Google "Sprint coverage map" and have a look. The official site is what you need, should be in the first couple of results.

I live in the Tampa Bay area... we have the best coverage (see pics)... I don't think that's a problem at all...

I use RA as well, but I also use a custom format.zip file for wiping data/cache/dalvik. Could be something with the newer radios. I haven't updated mine in a while, but now that I am looking it looks like they may have been updated just by flashing this ROM. I could have swore the last radio I flashed was 1.9xxxxx but now my baseband version is 2.15.00.11.19! Either way, I'm not having the 3G issue you are having. I don't see the 3G icon all the time, especially since I am on wifi while at home. Also, AOSP ROMs change the connection to 1x when sending txt messages. When you connect to the web or DL something from the market you should see it change to 3G.

Thanks, I'll test it a bit more then...

Since I've been using this rom when I flash the new update I've only wiped cashe, dalvik cashe and battery stats.

Then I flash the updated rom zip, then the gapps zip, then the Gtalk zip, then reboot.

I haven't had any 3g or 4g issues, I count myself lucky I guess.

So I think I found my first bug. I am video recording at the highest setting and noticed that the audio and video are out of sync during playback. Anyone else seeing this?

Welcome to AC! I think you will find the community a little more forgiving over here than on XDA. Those guys are all business! But I give them credit for what they do and how they do it! I ran the CM7 ROM for a while but always ended up having issues with GPS or MMS or something. This ROM has been rock solid for me, but I did recently stumble upon an audio sync issue with video recording playback. Not sure if this is just the version of the ROM I am running or if this is something just inherent to AOSP ROMs in general. My EVO is not my primary recording device so this is not a show stopper for me, but I would like for it to work properly. I'll probably be flashing up to the latest ROM tonight or tomorrow to see if this gets fixed or not. Any who... welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy the ROM as much as the rest of us have!
