[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

Titanium Backup Pro. Worth every penny. I don't do full wipes very often, but when I do it only takes me 30-40 minutes start to end.

How do you do that in 30-40 minutes? I use Titanium Pro myself, but it still takes forever. Everything i've read says to only install apps from the market, never from a backup and then to only install the data back for non-system apps. So to reload every app from market 1 by 1, then click in Ti Pro to restore only their data 1 at a time, takes me several hours. Any help would be appreciated!

The trick is to restore apps only and no data...You can do the restore from Titanium.

When I flash a new ROM and need to restore my apps the way I do it is to first download Titanium from the market, then go into Titanium but do not do a batch restore. Instead I scroll through and select the individual apps I want to get back but restore app only, no data. There are a few exceptions like Angry Birds and CardStar. Those I restore app+data and haven't had a problem.

Titanium Pro may let you create a profile that allows for a batch restore of the apps you have set into the profile, I'm not sure, I only use the free version.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next nightly so I can go back to CM7. I'll have it flashed (rom, gapps and incredilkernel) along with restoring apps in less than 30 minutes. :-)

PS....getting this a lot on the nightly page: Yahoo API is down, please try about five minutes later.

Is that normal? I've seen it a few times, but now it's all the time.

Thanks Wanda. That's what I used to do every time but then I read several different posts on the forums saying apps should only be installed from the Market directly. Sounds like this works for you so I may go back to it. I have Ti Pro and would love to know a streamlined way to restore everything.

I have restored apps+data after EVERY ROM flash I have done on my Incredible, and I have never run into issues. I'm not saying other users haven't had problems, but considering the luck I've always had it sort of makes me believe it may be the dreaded PEBCAK error. :P

Honestly though, as long as you don't restore any system data from one ROM to another, you should be fine. When I do a full wipe, I backup in Titanium, backup in CWM, restore apps+data in Titanium, change settings, done. 30-40 minutes max.

Interesting. I used to do that too and never had issues but of course read a few "guides" and it scared me. Do you do a batch restore or just do each app one by one but with data? I'm on 257 now and usually switch about once per month. But I'd like to flash new ROM's more often if I can streamline the process.

Personally, after a clean load I like to install apps fresh from the market and then restore data from TI for Angry Birds and other apps that store state.

It probably does not make a difference for most as long as System Data is not restored. Perhaps I'm just getting old and figure if I'm going to do a full wipe, I might as well put clean app installs on as well. I do admit I have a few apps that are not in the market anymore that I do restore from TI and have not had any issues.

Bottom line is, do whatever works for you. If you have a problem, then uninstall the app and download it fresh.

Well, I flashed 258 this evening. I guess I missed the customization of CM7. Now that I have my phone kicking azz again, watch 259 come out tomorrow.

Well, it's a good thing I'm back on CM7. Looks like I'll he hanging onto this phone a while longer. The BEST deal VZW can give a 22 year customer on the Bionic is $149, which is $150 more than I have to spend.

Dang...thats stinks man. Customer loyalty doesn't really mean a whole lot today. It's a damn good thing the Inc is such a hoss! Year and a half after it came out and it's still kicking arse thanks to the developer community.

I'm hoping Christmas is good for me and I get some cash for either the Rezound or the Nexus but I'm just not sure about Samsung and I really dig Sense.

I always do a batch restoration, and I have never once had an issue with Titanium.

I've been on ICS-Deck off and on since it's pre-alpha 5 and now its up to alpha 1. I gotta say it's very promising...not everything works, as you'd expect with an alpha build, but it's very smooth, relatively stable and fun to mess with.

My point is CM9 IS GOING TO BE FLIPPING SWEET!!!:D

Having a hard time being patient...

Every app keeps force closing. Started this morning..... A-hhhhhhh

Look at it this way... you can start the new year off with a fresh install.

Or try clearing a bunch of cache and doing a "fix permission" in recovery.

I tried the Alpha 1 for a while today. It's gonna be sweet. I use the camera too much with my small kids to run it every day, but it ran smooth with just a couple of bumps. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Agreed. CM9 on the Inc is going to be nice. I just hope I still have my Inc at that time.

Are there any wild guesses on an alpha CM9 for us? I know better than to ask for an ETA, so I will gladly entertain "wild guesses!" ;)
