[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

I will add the new incredikernel to the OP as soon as I am at a computer. It's been running very nicely for me. Great battery life especially with the minimum set at 128. Looks like slayher has merged a new I/O scheduler to our kernel. It's called the deadline scheduler. Here is a little info on that: Deadline scheduler
just wanted to say thanks for the OP update on chad's kernel....

question? I have only ever used chads kernel because I get really good results from it... what are some pros and cons of some other kernels available? or is it just a matter of personal choice.

Invisiblek's kernels have always been great with battery life, and stability. The Tiamat series is fast as lightning and OC-able further then any others, but sometimes are unstable. I've tried them all for a couple days, and I think I've gotten the best results from the new invisiblek. Although the latest incredikernel has been running very well. Just try them all and see which one works best for you!

I used the invisiblek earlier this week and it ran nicely, and the battery seemed pretty good, but i noticed that the default min clock setting is 200-something, whereas on the incredikernel it's in the 100's.. don't know if that really means much tho.

it may not mean a whole lot, but I do like being able to have a screen off option at 128. I may check out Invisibleks kernel....

what does "OC-able" mean ?

Did a data wipe, dalvek wipe, and reinstalled nightly 19 and seems to work good now. I used the googleapps from 1/20/11 I had on my sd card. Forgot to get the new one. Can I install newest gapps at any time?

over clockable

@xterror - i think you can reflash a newer gapps if you want. i would wipe cache and dalvik to be on the safe side. you could also probably just get the updates in the market for google stuff (that works, i believe, but not everything that updates in the market will work, for instance, words with friends, which i cant play anymore bc i updated it when i wasnt paying attention)

Thanks, I'll do updates through market first.
I know for sure I did Dalvik and data wipe before installing, how come it remembers my wifi passwords? and it installed all my apps i had on before. Didn't do this the first time I Installed CM7

Should I have installed RC2? I did nightly 19

U probably have a titanium backup of those (pro for the auto restore i think) or synced up with Google

Yea, I have titanium backup, but not pro. the first time I had to go into titanium and select each app I had and click recover with app+data. This time they installed but without data by itself, so I still had to go into TB and click recover DATA only. Weird. Well all seems to be working ok for now.

Actually my bad, if u just wipe the cache and dalvik, and flash over a previous nightly, ur apps will not have been erased. Dunno abt the wifi passwords but those are backed in titanium

all of my passwords are saved for me...:) UNLESS you do a full wipe, nothing will be harmed. i have learned the hard way :)

------DL the "nightly" ROM u want----
STEP1: Backup current "nightly" ROM
STEP2: Manually boot into recovery
STEP3: Flash the new ROM you DL'd
STEP4: wipe "cache" - NOT DATA
STEP5: wipe dalvik cache
STEP6: Flash kernel you want
STEP7: REBOOT :)

This is how I always do it and never have any problems with the nightlies

i thought you were supposed to wipe cache and dalvik before you flash the rom.
i would wipe those two, flash the rom, then the gapps if you want, then reboot the phone. then boot back into recovery mode (if you want to change the kernel), wipe the cache and dalvik again, and then flash the kernel, then reboot.
i'm not sure if that's right tho, thats just what i thought :-!

I never have to reflash my gapps... they are always there for me...

All I know, is the steps i listed is how I do it and never have any problems at all... I got this info from the OP (page 1). and why would you have to do it twice (once before the rom and once again before a kernel; there hasn't even been a chance for anything to build up in the cache yet)... anywho, just the way I do it and works flawless for me..

Someone let me know If I am doing It wrong (but I doubt it)

Wiping before or after the flash is a non issue. Either is fine!

Just wigh a new build would come out so there was something to flash.

I cleared Battery Stats today just to use Recovery for Something! ;)

so is there a difference between nightly 19 and RC2? if so, then I might want to try RC2 :)

Looks like a GPS Fix and Volume gains for ear and speaker are merged, not sure if the Autobacklight changes made #19 or not. I did not see any real changes in the screen and it say's he added levels, so I'm guessing it was not.
