[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

Few questions...does anyone else have a habit of using the v as their space bar....also I keep getting an occasional adw force close as well as a beautiful widget not loading...any solutions....I did do a full wipe before install as well as cache and dalvik

i get v's all the time and mistype. the gb keyboard is way better than the stock, but i still have alot of trouble typing correctly.

i also started getting alot of force closes, and a couple freeze ups, running 19. but they happened when i was kind of pushing it, so i might have caused a few of them. and it always worked out with a reboot.

btw, my problem with words w friends was solved by reverting adfree, though i've since had problems with facebook app (unsolved before and after update).

but cm7 is still the best

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook.

Not sure about the V thing. Planning any Vendettas? ;)

The Auto backlight changes are definitely in this one - should be a GPS fix where toggling the GPS on/off would not acquire satellites the second time, and the in call volume on speaker and ear should be boosted.

I've been using this boot animation for a while: [Boot Animation] SMOOTH Android Particle Ring (GREEN, Honeycomb BLUE, CM CYAN) HDPI! - xda-developers The blue version goes really well with the Honeybread theme.

For everyone wondering about wi-fi passwords those are synced with your Google account on all AOSP ROMs. Same concept that applies to your contacts when synced with your Google account, as soon as you sign in on your phone, wi-fi passwords are back. Passwords are also able to be backed up using Titanium Backup if Google sync isn't your style.

For some reason I cannot get it to work, I am following the commands in terminal exactly... frustrated!

For switching out boot animations, I just use Root Explorer to delete the current bootanimation.zip from /system/media, and then paste the new one in there. No need for terminal commands or flashing.

Example, download the bootanimation-blue.zip from the thread at XDA, rename to bootanimation.zip. Navigate to /system/media using Root Explorer (Or any file manager that will let you navigate there). Mount the system as R/W, delete existing bootanimtion.zip, paste in the new one! Re-mount the system as R/O, reboot to see the changes.

unfortunately I don't get paid until tomorrow, so I cant buy the version that will let me use my rooted capabilities :(

There are a few free file managers that will allow you to do this. I'm not sure on their names as I just use Root Explorer, but I know they are out there.

Never used this one but it looks like it should work! https://market.android.com/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.TaskManager
YES!!!! I figured it out... freakin awesome. Thank you so much... I used an app called SuperManager... it took some tinkering, I figured it out... Thanks again, especially for the R/O and R/W info, def needed to know that :)

I am turning on and off my phone just to see it.... :)

Unfortunately yes, the next flash will overwrite your boot animation. Sometimes I change my boot animation between builds, other times I am too lazy. Depends mostly on what time of day I do my flashing haha!

Not really that big of a deal... Now that I know how to do it, it only takes like 1 minute to change :) I think I saw on an xda post somewhere that a person can permanently keep it regardless of a new flash, but maybe I was seeing things... I will research though

OK so I flashed 21 and still have issues with the auto brightness...what gives

Wish I could help, I find that auto brightness is a pain in the butt anyway. so I never mess with it... I just keep my phone set at about medium.

Hey guys,
I'm jumping in kinda late, here; so forgive me if this has been previously addressed.

On my stock Inc. I was able to dial a desired contact's name by typing their name, using the on-screen keypad. I have CM7 RC1 now, and I have to use search button, then type the contact's name.

Anyway to simulate the stock experience?

You can set the auto-brightness values yourself under the display tab in the CyanogenMod Settings if it is bugging you so much. I've never cared for auto-brightness much on any ROM I've tried, including stock, though. I just change my brightness via the notification bar power control widget.

That is a feature that is only found in HTC's Sense. There is an app in the Market called 'Dialer One' that somewhat replicates this functionality. I don't talk on the phone much so I don't mind scrolling through the AOSP contacts list, personally. Although the search functionality of the HTC Dialer was nice.
