Not really, I will exlpain how to do it in a few hrs.. busy right now
md17; First question? Have you ever changed your boot animation before? if yes, than you just do it the same way as any other boot animation (just make sure they fit the screen size of our phones

)
IF NOT-> Here is how I do it... FOLLOW CAREFULLY
1:if you do not have any type of file manager that works with root, then I suggest (Super Manager app by Gpc) it is the same as Root explorer but FREE and IMO easier to use... that being said, these are the directions using the app Super Manager, not Root explorer (i have never used that app)
2: Find a Boot animation that you want and download onto your PC. must be renamed bootanimation
3: open supermanager app and go to setting and check the box for enable ROOT funciton. then back up and Open File explorer
4: Find "sd card (looks like a chainlink in front of it) and open it then scroll until you find ' bootanimation.zip " and long press and select copy. then back up again and click on 'system' (there is a folder in front of it)
5: when you click on 'system" a message will pop up asking to switch to R/W, yes click on the R/W button. then the folder will open up and you need to then find the MEDIA folder and open it. long press on the 'boot animation.zip" and select delete (if a message pops up just say OK.
6. click on the Clipboard at the bottom of the screen and it will place the copied bootanimation.zip that you copied earlier... after that you need to press the menu (soft button at bottom of phone) and then select Switch system R/W, and select R/O....
7: exit out of it and reboot your phone

easy as that.
just to be on the safe side have a nandroid back up , i always to. and unfortunately everytime you reflash a new nightly you will have to do this again but it only takes like 5 seconds once you know how to do it
Let me know if this helps. click the thanks button if so, if not, let me know
BTY: installing a new splash screen is even easier... just find one you like and Rename the file PB31IMG and place it on the root of your SD card. Power down, hold volume down + power... and let hboot do the rest. When prompt to install, press volume up. Then reboot and enjoy
