[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

Ha ha your dead on with the FB app.
My screen orientation in ADW settings is greyed out and wont let me select it. Where was it that the "fix permissions" was? I seem to remember seeing somewhere but can't find it now.

Rom Manager or in Recovery for Fix Permissions. I'd just go with the recovery.

Hey guys, I know its been a while, and this might catch some of you off guard. So sit down, brace yourself, and take deep breaths.

I have updated the OP.

Whew, ok. Got that out of the way. New Tiamat, version 3.3.7. I've been running it for a couple days now. Seems just as quick and snappy as Incredikernel, but battery life on my end has been better. No reboots like I had issues with on the previous 2 builds, which I left out of the OP just to save everyone here a headache. The 3.3.7 kernel is rock solid though! Go ahead and flash away guys! Let me know how it runs for all of you.

Shhhhhh...

We're on an OP!

Is the Home Orientation dropdown still greyed out?

Try clearing ADW Cache.

Or try reset ADW Settings.

It was still greyed out. Had to reset ADW settings, reconfigure a few things but its working 4.0 now. Thanks man.

2 days in a row guys, I'm on fire! OP Updated!

This time its a brand new Incredikernel! It has been patched up to the 2.6.37.6 kernel source, also includes updated drivers for many things including the touch panel on our device. Sensitivity of the optical joystick on our devices has been tweaked slightly as well.

I just flashed this kernel myself, but considering it is an Incredikernel, I doubt you guys need my seal of approval. Everybody feel free to share their results!

Just thought Id let everyone know that I am sending back my ThunderBolt in the next day or so.... I am very underimpressed with the actual phone itself... it should have never left the factory. I miss my inc CM7... YES 4g was nice, but id rather have a well biult phone like the Dinc than something quickly put together like the TB... I gave it a solid 5 Days, and I put it through all of it paces as much as I could without rooting it.... there are seriously lag issues all over it and I am not even getting alot of text messages from people until HRs later... my job involves texting and NAV... Oh well, I will still have my upgrade and save it for something better later... ANYthing BUT motorola (garbage) :) plus, I really missed you guys!

on a side not, I rooted a buddies evo this morning and put CM7 on it and Blew his mind :)

SO... IM BACK and super glad I didn't sell the best phone ever - Dinc

Sorry to hear it was not a good switch.

From what I've been reading your experience is not a fluke. Many are returning the TB because it's not what it could be.

Not sure if it was rushed or if it's the Bloat that's causing the lag, but either way I hope VZW and HTC get the message.

It is too bad that the T-bolt didn't cut it, but I have to say, I'm kinda happy about it, too. I have had 4G envy since it came out but my wife won't let me get a 'Bolt since the dinc is only 6 months old. Hearing that the 'bolt is crap makes it easier not to want it ;)

Good to see you back, and I honestly will get a post up on changing the notification background someday...

SETH WTF!!! hahah jk.

that's exactly what I thought to myself after having the phone for a whole week. I was very impressed with the 4 g speeds, and unimpressed with the phone itself. I feel like htc rushed it when they were building it. and on the plus side I still have my upgrade;-)

battery for granted

Ill tell everyone this.... DO NOT TAKE YOUR BATTERY LIFE FOR GRANTED!!!

The TB was a battery eating monster... watch this video and you'll have a better idea of what i mean :P I feel like my Dinc last forever compared to the TB...

I have pretty much the exact same average battery life with both the bolt and the dinc, however i have noticed that the tbolt is more fickle sometimes - some days it lasts super long for no distinguishable reason, other days it's short for no reason.

anyway, you can't go wrong with the droid incredible as well all know.:-$

Explanations and RANT :)

I could see a possibility of battery increase if i would have rooted and debloated.... I felt like there was so much bloatware that was syncing , and I even turned most of it off (some of the bloat you had to sync at least every 12 hrs). before I rooted my Dinc it was somewhat of a battery hog. and the new sense on TB seemed heavy to me also, like it was dragging down the phone... if anybody wants to go to TB forums here and read, alot of people are saying the same thing...

my main issues were general lag of simple tasks... for instance, if it takes more than 1.5 seconds for apps under 'management" to come into view to be managed (ie.. force closed) than that is WAY to long for a phone that is as hyped as the TB(which was given an extra 256mg ram). also, I was having texting issues... the main people I text were getting 3 exact same messages in a row. there were some other minor issues too. I feel like I gave the phone a fighting chance. Keep in mind it wasn't rooted and debloated and Im not a noob at working my way a around any android phone (except maybe "touch wiz" skinned phones... justnot alot of experience with samsung). hell, I had the DX for almost a month and gave it back.. out of all the phones i have owned. I love my Dinc for the hardware and CM7 but I miss webOS ALOT... unless you have ever used webOS, its hard to explain. IMO best OS there is. but palms hardware sucked, I went through 5 phones :)

plus, i had light (pixel) leakage which is not a big deal but for the hype and cost of the phone that should never happen... I do miss the TB, but I missed my Hinc more... and who knows what other better phones are around the corner :) I am lucky, I am under a family plan with 4 others that NEVER use their upgrades so they give them to me...

jerry's final thoughts - all in all, I really like the way the phone felt in my large man hands, it felt sturdy... yet in the end, VZ rushed the production IMO.... I do know this.... 4g is AMAZINGly fast and the next phone I get will absolutely have 4g. and if it feels better to have my Dinc in my hand than the TB, i feel like I made the right choice. And why is it, that VZW *the best and most reliable phone company* get the least of the best selection of phones... Tmobile, Att and sprint all get better phones, but there customer service sux and coverage isn't as reliable... /END RANT thanks for lending me your ears guys ;)
