[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

Nightly 91 is going to be interesting when it's finally released. Not only are we getting browser updates, status bar and lockscreen updates, and a low battery alert sound but according to the changelog they're updating the kernel as well.

Do the nightly downloads include kernals and radios? I'm currently running the 2.15.00.07.28 radio and 2.6.32.17-g9a2fc16 kernel. Thanks!

Yes Cyanogenmod comes packaged with it's own kernel, though you can always flash another kernel if you want (I swear by Incredikernel, but I'm going to give the new kernel a shot when nightly 91 is released). And flashing a ROM doesn't affect your radio. If you want to update your phone's radio you have to do that yourself.

I got sick of waiting for the official 91 build, and am going to flash a custom build by pons (over at XDA). I'll let you guys know how I like the updates!

Also, the DualRomX2 app/quad boot setup really rocks. I am going to use CM7 as my phone ROM, and I already have SR4.0, MIUI (GB), GingerSense Remixed (B4), and the new Liquid Metal UI set up as the other boot options. It definitely beats using nandroids to switch ROMs.

You've piqued my curiosity. What is this quad boot setup you speak of?

You set up a ROM, flash a .zip to make a folder/partition in your EMMC storage, flash another .zip to move the ROM from your phone to the partition you made, and repeat. Once the ROM is moved into your EMMC, you can wipe your phone and reinstall the next one, with any mods you want (or use a nandroid to get a previous setup back).

When you flash the zip to move the ROM, an app is installed that allows you to boot to any ROM you have set up with the push of a button.

The only major issue is that it looks like it might be a pain to update ROM's that have been moved, though there is a script for that. I'd definitely recommend trying it, though.

DualRomX2 = 4 roms on emmc(No editing roms)(No wipe updates) 5-29-11 - xda-developers

This sounds pretty awesome. I dont really need to use multiple roms at once, but being able to test out some mods this way sounds really simple and time saving.

Can you restore to a partition?

Everything is done by installing to the phone as you normally would and moving it, so you can restore to the phone and move it to a partition without having to boot it, but not directly to a partition.

From what I understand, you can also move a partition back to the phone, modify it, and move it back to it's partition.

I just went to check the CM7 nightlies changelog only to find that the changelog has disappeared. I just got a message saying the my device isn't supported. I checked on the changelog for other devices and got the same message. Could Team Cyanogenmod be gearing up for another stable release?

Very possible. Although the easiest way to keep up on all the changes is HERE
