@DWM - There was a post on xda that 109 lost root and the SU binaries had to be flashed. How did it work for you? Do you still have SU?

I still have superuser, so safe to assume I still have root.

OK, scratch what I just said in my previous post. I just tried to start shootme and it told me to make sure I have root access. I'll give Unrevoked a shot, and if that doesn't work it's back to nightly 108.

EDIT-According to the thread on XDA 109 doesn't make you loose root, but it does bork the SU binaries to the point where you need to flash new binaries to fix it. I'll give it a shot and see hoe it goes.

Yeah Unrevoked did not work for me so I rolled back to 108 for now. Thank God for backups

Success! flashing the binaries solved the problem.

Anyone on nightly 109 simply drop this file onto the root of your SD card and flash in recovery. That should solve the problem for you as well. Many thanks to everyone over at XDA.

For some unknown reason I cant just flash the nightlies anymore by wiping cache and wiping dalvik cache.This just started friday . That just shows the white HTC screen then goes back to recovery ,which then I just restored form a back up I saved before trying to flash.
I havent lost root all my root apps work.
My Superuser shows: Superuser V2.3.6.3
Su binary V2.3.2-efgh
I am not sure if Su is correct but I never flashed 109 .I made one attemp but it did same as mentioned above.

I always flash tho Hboot(power button with volume button held down) then into recovery using track pad to make the correct selection.Same way as I been doing all year

I can flash tho if I totally wipe data,cache,dalvik cache ,then have to flash gapps again Thats how I got on # 108

Although its been months I guess I could wipe everything in advance settings in CWM recovery except for sd card, I havent wipe a boot before. tho I have wiped system,data cache before in the advance settings, and guess that might fix it but hoped I wouldnt have to take the long path .I guess doing all that would fix it tho ha. Other then this issue everything is good

That is weird - I would try the full wipe - If that does not work - try re-flashing recovery.

Ok maybe I should tell the steps that fixed it for me

First I thought something might have gotten corrupt so when Pville suggested doing a total wipe I did that too thinking even if it doesnt fix I would have a clean slate.

I did that wiping system, wiping data,wiping cache about twice for each.
Installed #110 and gapps-gb- 20110613-signed.I didnt restore TB apps yet .
Phone booted back up just set up minimal til I checked things out.
I powered down and tho recovery tried to reflash #110 but as if I was flashing a different nightly wiping cache ,and dalvik only and the phone booted up as expected.So I thought it was fixed then.
I then restored my apps tho TB back up .just app with app data.
I made a backup .
I tried to "act" like I was flashing another nightly(reflashing #110) again this time it was a no go ,,,got stuck on htc white screen gave it plenty of time to boot .Almost thought something made with TB was affecting it but first I wanted to reflash recovery .
Pulled battery went back to recovery restored my backup
Reflashed Recovery 3.0.0.8
Tested again changing the kernel it booted fine tho recovery
Tested again flashing #110 cm7 nightly again to get stock kernel back it flashed tho recovery again
Tested again to get back the kernel I wanted It booted up tho recovery again.
I did not know recovery would affect it like that so I wouldnt have fiqured that out on my own.Thats what makes this forum rock ,,,all the help you get.
So it must have been the recovery got a glitch in it ,just glad its fixed even if I went the long path

I'll be moving onto #110 in a moment but one thing that I noticed on #109 is that in the Market app it finally says "Verizon" versus "My Apps" on the main page for the far right column. This is the first time I've seen it back to normal in many builds. I don't know if it was the build, a coincidence or flashing the new binaries per Dark Wizard Matoya (per XDA...lol) but either way WOOHOO cuz this Type A guy is pretty happy

I noticed that as well, they finally fixed it with nightly 109. I'm glad the Verizon tab is back so I can keep My Verizon (the only Verizon app actually worth using) updated, but I miss having the "My apps" tab right on the market home page.

So I'll admit to you (but don't tell anyone else) that I also miss the shortcut a little now that it's gone. Now I have hit the menu button, THEN My Apps. Yep. The SU binaries are working again, no problems so far.
