Agreed. I can't believe how smooth this version is. I did a full wipe from 208 to 7.1 and I'm really happy with the way this turned out.

I might be in ROM heaven. CM7.1, the 10/08 incredikernel, ringtones, notifications and wallpapers that I copied over from the GB OTA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have any of you done an update from a nightly to the 7.1 release without wiping everything? Just wondering if it went smooth. The CM team says no wipe required.

Yeah, when flashing nightlies I would just wipe cache and dalvik, so I really don't think you'd run into any issues if you just did that. I did a complete wipe, well, for no reason.

Stupid question.........but are the nightly releases updated versions of the newly released stable 7.1 version?

Nightlies are built using an automated buildbot, and will continue after a Final release even if no new code is added. Any nightly past 221 is newer than 7.1, but most likely identical.

I have a favor to ask of one our CM7 vets in this thread. I would like to keep this thread as focused on the nightlies as possible, so if someone else wouldn't mind opening a new thread for 7.1, that would be awesome. I would do it myself but I don't have access to a computer at the moment.

On another hand, I can't wait to start a new nightly thread when ICS drops. I'm really looking forward to what the CM team does with it. If Google pulls a Honeycomb and doesn't open-source it though I will most likely get a WP7 device.

Just loaded 226 with a fresh clean install. All apps re-downloaded ect. (I forgot how many custom settings I made. It took a while to find them all again! LOL)

Bluetooth is working again and life is good!

Sweet - I have been having a small panic attack over the last week because my phone kept randomly shutting itself off. It was one of the reasons I did a fresh load, but yesterday an today it kept shutting off again randomly.

Then It shut off while my son was "flicking open" the Zippo Lighter app and suddenly it was like a light went off. I did a few experiments and lo and behold the battery was shifting in the phone.

I guess after a year and a half the springs on the contacts are not as tense as they once were and when the phone was bumped it would lose contact and shut off. Well a piece of folded paper and some double sided tape did wonders and now I can shake the pone and have it stay on!

Yeah I was already counting out the change jar/phone fund and scratching my head on how to make it last a while longer. Or talk my wife into the Insurance DInc2 and take her DInc.
