[ROM][GINGERBREAD] CyanogenMOD 7 Nightly Builds.

I usually wipe both the cache and dalvik cache between nightlies it doesnt take long to do just to make sure of ;) its worth it to me ha .
I always have to reflash the Incredikernel kernel whenever I flash a nightly since thats the prefered kernal(over the stock kernel) for me .
My battery life is great with that kernel, combined with other settings of course :)

I have been using Chad's 2/20 incredikernel over the past few nightlies, and I have been getting ridiculous battery life. I unplugged at 10am yesterday, and didn't charge overnight just to see what I could squeeze out of it. Had it overclocked to 1.13GHz til I hit 20%, then went back to stock speed. My phone died around 3pm today. I used my phone for music in the car, browsed FB, XDA, a little Amazon browsing for some headphone reviews, and of course, way too much Fruit Ninja.

Do you uncderclock w/ screen setting off? JW... because that is really good battery life..... the main thing that destroys my battery is using Flash10.1 on the web, and I listen to alot of podcasts. I have also tried overclocking on the same 1113 with screen on... now I just keep it stable at 921 on and 128 off.

I just use the smartass governor which has a screen-off profile built in automatically. Any sort of browsing, especially on 3g will be rough on the battery, especially if your using Flash. Considering Flash tends to make my dual-core laptop choke sometimes, its no surprise that it is a huge battery drain on my phone haha! I know my battery can be way better with a slight underclock, but I just love how quick it is at 1.13. Even if it might just be a placebo effect ;)

Any one flashed 8 yet???

SO... Has anyone has Flashed #8 nightly to their phone yet. and if so, care to share any noticeable updates with it... I am at #7 and haven't noticed a huge diff since maybe #4.... I think I may wait until a few more come out before I flash again, but who knows... Just share the info if any about #8

I know there is the Gerrit Codes for the changes but I don't understand how to interpret it :)

Between 7 and 8 there were only 5 merges, one relevant to the DInc specifically and it was a change in registry setting coding that is not going to be visible to an end user. The rest were also back end changes.

I plan on doing a clean install tomorrow with #8 to see if it clears up the CM registration bug.

Has anyone noticed any discrepancy between the green battery light and the lock screen charge meter. My green light will say charged while the lock screen battery meter says 95 percent...this really bothers me

Something really wierd just happened to my phone!!!

I was in the middle of a text message and my swiftkey went black and the whole phone froze up... I had to take the battery out and turn on... all of the sudden I was notified of the new #8 in my notifications bar, and I remember alot of posting that we were unable to register for push notifications.... STRANGE!!!!

This. I'm gonna do the same when 9 is released.

This is the case with all AOSP ROMs. The notification light turns green at 90%. Some call it a bug, others a feature.

I noticed that too , I go by the percentage on the lock screen instead of the led I just kinda took that is the calibration between the lite and actual charge and the whole bump charging thing theory but maybe not idk ha

Still can't get flash player to work. Any ideas?

My flash works just ran a flash test video since upgraded to #8 , dont know why yours dont , I assume you have probably done all the uninstall and reinstall flash player routine .
Does it just not do anything ?

What exactly is the CM registration bug?
Alot of people are unable to enable to allow automatic "push notifications" of the new nightlies (or any ROM u may be using)... For example, instead of using your ClockworkMod Premium to check if there is a new nightly avail right from you phone, u can enable "push notifications" (oddly enough this setting is under your cyanogen settings)... allowing push notifications lets you not have to take five seconds and check it yourself... It allow us to be lazy and i love it... its a nice feature :) if you read a few post back, For some reason I still cant register, but when my phone froze last night and i pulled battery and put it back in... walla, I had a notification of the availability of the new #8 in my notifications bar... wierd --anyone know why--

Well bummer. After doing a full wipe and reload in hopes of being able to register for the CM build notifications... alas it was for naught. :(
