nope, just used titanium to uninstall the stock swype. then just download the new installer from the webpage and follow the instructions from there. same way i did it in reborn, works fine.

So you are running swype beta on gROM?

Permissions repair fixed my fc on Swype. Dirty flashing to get back to the better kernel fixed my typing issues

Yes, I plan to dabble in the kernel this weekend myself. It will be a 100% learning exp for me so dont expect miracles right away! lol

I came from namelessROM to gROM, phone was laggy, dirty flash seemed to fix the lag really well. About the battery issue, it for sure is a zvh issue and we're waiting for a sprint fix? Is the phone really rebooting or is it the time being reported wrong? Tried the no-wake.zip (think Nick made it for his rom) so only the power button would wake the phone. Found a thread about MOD remap the keys but it didn't work on ZVH. "adb pull /system/usr/keylayout/thunder_keypad.kl" is incorrect for this version, the file name is "thunderc_keypad.kl" in case someone else is interested. (got a 'c' in the name) Also on gRom downloads from the market are very slow starting. I thought the download failed then later I got an alert that the file was installed. Anyway just reporting in and thanks peeps.

gROM is not lagging at all for me. Working smooth. Was laggy the first day or so. Battery is at 80% after 3 1/4 hours. Not too bad for stock kernel.

Phone showed 52m 10s on battery. Laid the phone down with that screen still on, came back 20 minutes later, screen didn't update. Exited out of screen and went back in and it showed 55m 10s on batter. Not sure the phone is actually rebooting, just a screw up in the time reporting. Maybe someone with the knowledge might check out that possibility. Just a thought.

Yeah, the Market 3.x series dont play nice... with any ROM. I posted the 2.3.6 in the second post if you want to revert. I will make market a lot faster.

I see it. What happens is this... When I forst log into market... It never brings up the "accept" screen. All i do is hit back until I am at the home screen then go back in to market and it is fine there. Then usually on the first download... If you DONT have the accept error it hesitates... For a long time... Then when that kicks in... Your good. Everything is golden from there.

Its a first run glitch but some people dont have the time or patients to deal with it so I posted the older APK for those. I may even consider a full revert to older APK and post the newer one in the thread. I dont know yet. Maybe I will do a poll on it.


On the other hand... Some people never even notice it or it dimnply doesnt happen. But I can assure that its glitchy because it does it on all my android phones, not just this one. Thats also why I think google has not officially pushed to all devices.

go to sleep in a program. When I wake it, it is still in the program. Looking at battery stats it looks like it's been 15 minutes since boot but really it has been several hours. Looks like it is just a 'time' thing, not a rebooting thing. but then I'm just guessing. thanks again all.

After updating before rooting, it took me hours to finally get gROM installed. So far, it is running great with a benchmark score of 907.

Yeah, that is a peculiar bug for sure.

just to update.. this rom is awesome other than the market bug and the few cm7 features that i wish it had. havnt had a single random reboot yet and everything runs really snappy.
